Aww, happy birthday to your DD!
I'm sorry to hear about your guests being late. :( That stinks.
We celebrated DD's birthday today, as well. (Though her actual birthday isn't until next Saturday, but good luck getting anyone to come 3 days before Christmas. Not that I would even ask.) It has been a *crazy* day. Long story short, I got home from my 5th trip to the store (to buy the tape I went to the store the previous time for
) at 1.50, when her party started at 2. So running around trying to wrap her presents, and make sure the favor bags are ready, and the cups/plates/etc. were gathered up, just to get to my mom's house to find out that the guests (We invited all of DD's best friends, two sisters and another girl that are in their group, but only the two sisters could come.), were running a bit late. We had just called the mom, and got no answer, so figured someone/everyone was sick, or something was wrong, and DD had decided to go ahead and open her presents, when my mom glanced out the window and noticed they were there. So girl stuff ensued, Hello Kitty movie watching, and great fun was had by all. :)
Now, I'm feeling ragged by running around like a chicken with my head cut off, because I was also trying to make sure that I got as much postal stuff sent out as I could, because unbeknownst to me, when I read the cut-off date for sending packages was the 14th, I didn't realize it was for parcel post, and not first class/priority, which I had/have been using.
So all this time, worrying I wasn't going to get stuff sent out on time, and no one would get their stuff before Christmas, and I didn't need to be. They told me I have until ~20th to send things out, and I'll be good. So... yeah. Yay for unnecessary stress!
