Weighing heavily on my heart, too.  Certainly makes you re-prioritize your own life.

We explained to our children what happened this morning and we all prayed for them as a family.  My girls are really sensitive to these things, not in a fearful way, but in a "we need to keep praying for them, mom" way...and they do.  I'm thankful for those little hearts that hold so much concern for others.  The death of a child is one of the things I fear most, and I try to reconcile it in my head knowing that they would be with Jesus and I could take comfort in that (and that, after all, God's only Son died- for ME), but I can't imagine the ache of emptiness it would leave.  So horrifying.

Definitely thinking of and praying for all those families involved on all sides of that terrible situation. :(

There's no reason Santa wouldn't be able to visit the kids in heaven. Santa's as good as it gets, plus he's magic. I'm sure him and St Peter are on good terms. hug2.gif

I've been avoiding the news like the plague because I just can't bare it.

Thankfully I had a busy busy day today that started with my anatomy scan! FINALLY!! I just posted this picture in the announcement thread but I'll post it here too:

I have to find my camera and then I'll take some pictures of our scan pictures too, our little guy was quite happy to show us his bits and pieces! My husband said he's never been so happy to see a penis that wasn't his own biglaugh.gif

So yesterday I finished my Goodreads goal of 100 books in 2012! Though I read more than that, because I don't list books I re-read. And I'm ahead of schedule to finish my 1 year through the Bible! (chronologically) I've never fully read it straight through from cover to cover before but I plan on repeating it every year.  I love having good books to take my mind off of things.  When I think about the stretch I still have before baby comes, I think of all the books I still want to read. LOL

Congratulations! I bet it'll be different to have a boy after 3 girls :-) it'll be a joy though!

The shooting still gets me :-( I guess the hormones help with reacting so strongly, as even when I see a post on FB about it, I cry my eyes out. My daughter that is 6 just understands that a bad man hurt a lot of kids and the kids are with Jesus now. She asked me if the kids are with Him and I said yes. She said "Mommy, they will be okay then." She then ran off to play with the dog. She has never delt with death of a close family member so she doesn't understand. She has only delt with the death of a fish before. I have definitly been hugging her extra long and more now. I do this constantly, but to have a reminder like that, really makes me want to make sure she knows how much she is loved.

As of today, I am 24 weeks! I have only 15 weeks till I see my little girl! So excited and so scared at the same time!

Well, four years ago I was in labor with DD. Can't believe she's four years old today!

Right now we're sitting around waiting for her party guests, who are over 30 minutes late. shake.gif

Congratulations on the baby boy! You're in for a world of fun and chaos :)!

Last night we received the most wonderful, generous, caring, words can't express it, Christmas present. My FIL and DH's step-mom are moving to TN, and after their house closed they went immediately to the bank and paid off our $10k car loan.. I just can't express the burden this has lifted off of us, and just how thankful and appreciative of it I am <3. *sigh*, it'll be so nice to have that extra $350/m to save with instead.

OttoMan, hope things went well for the party!

AlaskanMomma, that's amazing! That'll definitely help you all!

Looking for some advice from you all about nanny shares.

We meet with soon to be parents this morning that we are starting a nanny share with. They were awesome! I am so excited (and relieved).  We are all hoping to start care in August and have a bunch of questions since we are both new at this. Anyone out there have any experience? I realize some of the answers may depend on the region we are in, but I thought I would ask none the less.

Mostly we are interested in learning more about how you deal with the logistics of sick leave and vacation days with the potential nanny. And when to start interviewing nannies for and August start date.

TIA!

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Party went fine, except we had a no-show. I think DD is too excited to mind, but I would have appreciated a phone call or something. I only let her invite two little friends (because our house is small), and I went to a lot of work to lay out a nice spread of goodies for the parents to enjoy as well. Oh we'll. DD had a blast and that's hat counts.

That's a bummer about the no-show! :(  We haven't reached "friend parties" yet, and I'm not sure when we ever will.  ALL our family is local (and we're all pretty close) so we have like 35 people at every birthday party, just great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc...

Man, I've had some vicious RL pain today!  I am used to getting those nasty stitches on either side from it when I move wrong or get up too fast or something, but today it's just felt constantly super tight, mostly on my right side, sometimes on my left.  Such a sharp sensation to wait out, especially when it feels like I SHOULD be able to stretch and relieve it or something. (which usually I can, to a point, when they occur sporadically, but not today when they've just come on their own!)

Aww, happy birthday to your DD!

I'm sorry to hear about your guests being late. :( That stinks.

We celebrated DD's birthday today, as well. (Though her actual birthday isn't until next Saturday, but good luck getting anyone to come 3 days before Christmas. Not that I would even ask.) It has been a *crazy* day. Long story short, I got home from my 5th trip to the store (to buy the tape I went to the store the previous time for eyesroll.gif) at 1.50, when her party started at 2. So running around trying to wrap her presents, and make sure the favor bags are ready, and the cups/plates/etc. were gathered up, just to get to my mom's house to find out that the guests (We invited all of DD's best friends, two sisters and another girl that are in their group, but only the two sisters could come.), were running a bit late. We had just called the mom, and got no answer, so figured someone/everyone was sick, or something was wrong, and DD had decided to go ahead and open her presents, when my mom glanced out the window and noticed they were there. So girl stuff ensued, Hello Kitty movie watching, and great fun was had by all. :)

Now, I'm feeling ragged by running around like a chicken with my head cut off, because I was also trying to make sure that I got as much postal stuff sent out as I could, because unbeknownst to me, when I read the cut-off date for sending packages was the 14th, I didn't realize it was for parcel post, and not first class/priority, which I had/have been using. eyesroll.gif So all this time, worrying I wasn't going to get stuff sent out on time, and no one would get their stuff before Christmas, and I didn't need to be. They told me I have until ~20th to send things out, and I'll be good. So... yeah. Yay for unnecessary stress! orngtongue.gif

Apparently the no-show had been sick all week. I would have appreciated her mom calling or emailing sooner, rather than hours and hours after the party ended. But whatever.

Finally saw Cabin in the Woods (got the DVD for my bday). I adore Joss Whedon and was super excited, but we had just been too busy to watch it until last night. Woah. Intense.

DD got a Bitty Baby doll from her great grandparents (they send money and have me pick her gifts because they just can't shop anymore). She LOVES it. She went to sleep singing a made up lullaby ("I love you , baby! I love you, baby!), and was hugging the doll in her sleep when I checked on her before I went to bed. She got matching nightgowns for her and the doll from her Grandma too (and gets matching Xmas pjs from us Christmas Eve). She's been even more into nurturing doll play since I've been pregnant, so she's loving the nicer doll. Her little friend bought her a game (Curious George Discovery Beach) and if any of you have 3 and up aged kids you should get it! It's actually fun for parents to play too! DH and I have fun playing with her, unlike Candy Land which makes us want to tear our hair out. Those are her two favorite presents.

Feeling a lot more movement the last few nights. Still low. Why does the movement increase (so much) ... Over time/what feels like all of a sudden?

I am having to pee all. the. time. Get ready to wash dishes? Gotta pee. Thinking about dinner? Gotta pee. Just get home from anywhere? Gotta pee. All. The. Time. It's frustrating, sometimes.

I can't believe I'm 22 weeks already! Time is going so fast!

Hitting 24 weeks is such a relief!! How exciting for you guys! Will they do a c/s at 34 weeks (assuming you make it) automatically? I remember you mentioning some risks associated with going too far.

Holy cow! It seems crazy that you could have your babies here in TWO months!!!! :O

Yea they will do a c cection around 34 weeks .... They don't let u go much further ...
It is so hard to think we will have 3 babies in 2 months ( or less) I think they will come at 32 weeks for some reason smile.gif
