Help- scared!!!! Weaned toddler and crazy periods:(

I hope to get some help as I'm soo anxious. I recently weaned my 18 month old dd. I had tapered down dramatically since she was 12 months with no night nursing and for the past few months only nursing morning and before bed and then only before bed.
My periods started getting all whacked when I had a 21 day cycle. Now I'm only on cycle day 16 and I started!!!!!! And I'm so scared as there is black blood along with the red.
I'm 41,yrs old and worried I'm going into menopause or something or worse it could be something dreadful to have black blood. My emotions are all whack too.
I'm hoping this is normal because I've never nursed this long before and my cycles have always been clockwork 25-27 days.
Please help me!!!!!!!!

I don't have one here since we moved from out of state.
I will have to call a ob gyn here but usually first time wait is a month or more out. I just hoped someone else had these issues and it turned out fine. Maybe that it can be normal after weaning a toddler??
I'm so worried.
