Austin: new city need help with prenatal care...

Thread Starter
I just moved to N Austin with the hubs and my 22month old son. Currently I'm about 3 months pregnant. I had a checkup before we moved at 8 weeks and heard the heartbeat. Our health insurance doesn't kick in until February and I'm anxious to have prenatal care before then. I really just want to have the Doppler done and my blood pressure. If you know of a place I would really appreciate the help.

I am sorry I do not know of anywhere in the area that are willing to do those things, but if you are looking into a midwife you might be able to get one of them to hold off on charging you anythig till insurence kicks in.  I have a few names of midwives if you are interested.

Also you might try posting in the texas area of finding your tribe.  They are usually very helpful with questions and that forum would have more people local to the area. http://www.mothering.com/community/f/95/texas-oklahoma-new-mexico

Best of luck.
