I am 46 years old I had my period a week ago and now I am having it again. Anyone know why this would be it has happened to me before then it went back to normal after 5 months.

Menopause?

It sounds like perimenopause to me, which is the transitional time before menopause starts. Your periods don't just stop all of a sudden, the lead up can take years. And irregular menstruation, including more frequent periods, can be a sign.

If it's not menopause, maybe a hormonal problem? I take iodine drops, which I have reason to believe are helpful for this sort of thing, although clearly not as effective as a real thyroid medication would be. Maybe have your levels checked.
