lilag...   inter-uterine-insemination. It's artificial insemination where the sperm is placed near the cervix in the vagina.

Ooops... Yeah, it's also where washed sperm is injected into the uterus. The term is used so much for the cervical procedure that I tend to forget about the procedure the name originally referred to.

With IUI A catheter is actually run through the cervix so that washed semen are placed in the uterus closer to the fallopian tubes. It bypasses the cervix to take cervical fluid out of the equation and give more sperm a chance to meet the egg.

Sending out Hugs to those who need them this week! I am in a state of numbness right now so i probably won't have time for much.

AF showed up this morning as soon as I woke up at 530.  So we are out.  DH is still saying he doesn't know if he wants us to do medicated cycles again so I'm going to just work on losing the weight that I want to lose and see if that will help with my PCOS since nothing else seems to be able to explain my PCOS.    I will still be here to encourage everyone and i'm praying that everyone here is able to have the babies they dream of each night soon!  Love all of you ladies!

Aww brichole I am so sorry. I hope you get your take home baby soon and your DH changes his mind.

Hugs Brichole and SKJ

TeamViddy - Can you chart "secretly"?  I know that sounds bad but if your DH had troubles under pressure, is there a way that you could make it so that he doesn't know it's O time?  I know it's not that simple but just an idea...

AFM - Nada.  Just hangin' out.  I turn 30 on Thursday and expect AF shortly after.  Won't that be a nice birthday present? wink1.gif

Hugs PlaneGreen. AFM- No vomiting so far today, but definitely some nausea. I vomited twice yesterday (I'm sure you all needed to know that). I found out why though. My progesterone was 54.3 today. The nurse said my number is awesome and she's feeling positive vibes for me. I looked and my number with the boys at 7 weeks was less than double that. Granted, I was doing vagina progesterone support, not IM but it is still very promising.

Plus, this better all be worth it!

Hugs Brichole

My AF finally came last Friday (day 1) and went in for blood draw and ultrasound on Monday. Started taking Clomid on Tuesday (day 5). So we are just waiting and will be BD on Christmas Eve and Christmas (lucky us!!). I then go in for blood draw on Wednesday, and on Friday all while taking estrace, then we will see if I have healthy follicles, etc to do HCG injection then more BD and insemination.

Has anyone done endomentrin?

1) Is it generally expensive? Our insurance covers A TON of prescriptions without us coming out of pocket and this was $150 after insurance, just wondering if that is the norm? Waiting to hear back from the mail pharmacy for fertility that our doctor recommended.

2) Has anyone had any side effects?

brichole - big hugs to you. I hope things do end up working for you.

deborah - that sounds like great news! I'm sorry you're so nauseous though.

darla - I'm on endometrin right now. I pay $90 for a box of 21. Is the box you're getting the same size? If so, that seems very expensive. I can't tell you much about side effects since I have no idea which ones are progesterone related for me, but I will warn you to wear a panty liner. Endometrin can be very messy. I hope your cycle ends in a nice BFP!

shesaidboom: Thanks, I just spoke with the pharmacy and its $95. Seems as though the mail pharmacy is cheaper than Walgreens. So they are putting in an order, and I'll have it tomorrow and don't have to face this lovely snow storm we are supposed to have tonight and tomorrow.

Thanks SheSaidBoom. I took Zofran and Tums and no relief. I need to eat, but I'm afraid to put anything in my tummy. Thinking about trying some pancakes and seeing how those go down, but I'd have to make them.

Just like last year- Spicy Ginger Cookies to the rescue. I asked DH to stop and get me some tissues b/c I have a bad cold and he came home with more sprite and cookies for me. He's definitely on the nice list this year :-).

deborah - I've joined you on the puking train! Today I threw up so hard my nose started bleeding. As awful as it can be, it does make me feel better to be having symptoms. I hope you feel better soon! It's no fair to have a cold along with the nausea. I can't wait until your beta!

Thanks SheSaidBoom. I'm sorry you feel awful too (but glad for symptoms).

I think I'm out and I'm really upset about it. I woke up around 2 to discover spotting after I had been cramping this evening. I had cramped early on with the boys so I didn't count myself out, but I didn't cramp and spot at the same time.  Not sure why I was so sick.

Deborahbgkelly...   I'm so sorry... Try not to count yourself out just yet, though. Maybe your betas will have good news.
