I found this blog post very interesting and thought provoking.

 

After decluttering for around 18 months I am still working towards a less cluttered house, so the last thing I want to do is bring a whole pile of unneeded things into the house!

And that led me to www.abundanceswap.org

That second site has an absolutely brilliant idea! Locals bring gently but rarely used items and swap them out. So if you never pull out that cookie press or Belgian waffle maker or that tacky electric gadget that MIL got you last Christmas...

That would be really neat to get those going in other towns!

My town has lots of neat clothing swaps all around town. But in the spring there's a couple of "stuff swaps" too. It's a great way to get your own home in order without sending anything still good and useful to the dump.
