It's possible right? She was given the first vaccine several months ago at 4 1/2(we are delayed vaccinating) and she was exposed a week or two ago. The kids who we may have gotten it from got it from their mom who had shingles so it's wild and not from a kid who was vaccinated. My daughter has had no fever or other symptoms but she woke up yesterday with two spots near her belly button that remain unchanged this morning but now she's got two more on her shoulder/chest and one on her neck. They are just like little pimples, unremarkable really, except for the fact that I know she was exposed to pox. I'm thinking she may have it. That's possible since she didn't have the booster yet and because they can still get pox once fully vaccinated right? Also, my older two are 8 and 12 and they received only the first varicella as well so they are at risk for getting it I'm guessing. I'm calling the pediatrician to confirm but wanted other opinions here too since I know lots of parents here are knowledgeable about this subject.
Thanks so much!
