I am ticked off…and an apology to those whose children have been hurt by vaccines

I don't HATE most pro-vaxxers who post here. I do not usually agree with them, but so what? They do not agree with me, either.

Last weekend something changed, though.  A thread was posted where numerous pro-vaxxers mocked parents who believe their children were harmed by vaccines.  There are members of our community who have had their children permanently harmed by vaccines.  I can think of 2 people where their children died due to vaccine reactions.  .  

Of course, not all pro-vaxxers participated in the mocking thread, but I and a bunch of other people sure as hell remember who did.

I wonder if any of you feel any guilt at all about it…..

In any event:

To any poster whose children were harmed by vaccines, I am so sorry there are people in the world who think your pain is mockworthy.

I don't hang out in the vaccination forum often but I do read out of interest when I see lots of activity here. I'd consider myself a fairly objective observer although since I vaccinated my kids I suppose not everyone would agree. I do acknowledge that every parent is entitled to make their own choice in the matter. Kathy, I don't know what thread you are discussing. I'm not even sure it's okay to raise and discuss one thread in another thread according to the UA. In the event that this somehow falls within a general discussion about appropriate posting behaviour in this forum, I want to point out that I have read some egregiously offensive stuff from the non-vaxxers (or whatever label is preferred) making allusions to the Holocaust and fascism in reference to vaccines. That is seriously and horribly wrong too and I'm sure equally hurtful to many people.

I expected this to be brought up.  That has been done by one poster. 

I actually have no issues if those hurt by it start a thread on it, if they like, or call her on it (as they often do).  That would be the right thing to do.

One person making Nazi allusions does not justify hurting people who have had their children harmed by vaccines.  

ETA: I sincerely hope no one is using Nazi comments to justify their own inexcusable behaviour….cuz way to take responsibility for your own hurtful actions.
