ah could a high placenta explain you measuring large? some people just measure big second time around

Its really weird, but this is my third time around, first baby was stillborn at 6 months (23.5 weeks), then DD and now this DS.  With DD I measured ahead by 2-3 weeks but her pregnancy was right after the stillbirth.  It's been 7 years since I was last pg and with this one I am measuring 1-2 weeks behind but baby is measuring a few days ahead.  So weird.  Never can tell what's going to happen.

Don't know! It did look a little thick... but then I have NO experience interpreting ultrasounds! I got to see the chiro finally on Fri and my body aches soo much less and my belly doesn't look quite so huge any more, so maybe it was a combination of things?! Who knows! I'm just happy to finally know :-)

Trisha, glad you got to find out, guess your uterus is just efficient in its expansion!

I'm 17w+2 and measuring just above my belly button.  Didn't look it up, but I always thought belly button= 20 weeks.  If I am measuring large, it's probably just because it's my 5th baby.  I don't feel like I'm carrying twins because I think I would have had more morning sickness than I did.

Also feels like my uterus is predominently on the right side.  Is that possible?  My babies always favored my right side and that's where this one always is when we listen for the heartbeat.  Maybe my uterus is all screwed up after 4 c-sections?  Don't even know if that is possible, but it sure feels weird.

I will have an ultrasound at 21 weeks.  I'm sure of my conception date though. Just need to locate the placenta since I've had so many surgeries.  Still trying for VBAC though.

how many weeks are you?

I see the dr later this week and I'm sure this babe is going to be longer that DD, who was 21-22 inch at birth.

So...

We had Christmas with the in-laws (who I <3) on Sunday and my SIL told me that despite us having a u/s that said we're having only one baby, she's convinced that there's two in there! Here's her reasoning-

Last year a friend/relative (not sure) of hers had twins. Their first scan was at 4 months, showed one baby. They had another scan (not sure when), which showed only one baby. Then at 6.5 months, they had a third scan and they saw a SECOND baby! yikes2.gifThey were having twins but the second was always hiding behind the first until they got too big for it to be comfortable for them so they shifted from front and back, to top and bottom.

So, she's got me thinking again, but despite it, I think I'm less stressed now about the possibility than before. TRULY, time will tell! shrug.gif

I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and I'm measuring 30cm!

I measured just now. I'm 24 weeks now, and measured 36 cm! Despite our scan only finding one baby, the kicks I'm feeling and lumps I can palpate in my belly, along with increased growth, we're again thinking multiples! I took this pic at 23w4d and shared in the belly pic thread. It's hard to think that I have 4 months to go and the biggest growth for baby(s) yet to come. I'm almost as big as I was right before I gave birth to my daughter!

Trisha,
I'll be excited to find out. Any luck with the fetascope? Gonna try us again? Gonna let it be the biggest surprise of all?
At my most recent appt at 24 weeks 2 days, I measured 29cm. My doc said that was on par for twins. I wonder what you're having! Can you go for another ultrasound? Ours were SO obvious even at the very earliest ultrasound, so it's hard for me to believe multiples are missed, but our recent ultrasound tech said once they missed 4 babies when they thought there were 3, but the woman came in really late in her pregnancy. Apparently it's harder to identify separate babies the farther along in the pregnancy (according to the tech).

Im not planning another ultrasound. Not much luck listening with the fetoscope either but I'm a bit impatient and can feel baby(s?) moving anyway so I'm not concerned about not finding a hb. I did ask a local midwife if I could meet with her later on just for her palpation skills and helping me palpate myself, but am waiting on her response. Its possible we could just have a surprise! And I'm at peace with that too :-)
