What do you call that pre baby babe?

My 5 year old son and I were reading a book about palindromes. He is just getting to the point in reading where this was of interest! We had been thinking of baby names. I always tell him he can add to the list. We came across WOW in this book. Not only was it the same forward and back it is also mom upside down. Very impressive! So we tried it out "big brother Zeus and little Wow." Oh yeah a big hit. So it stuck. Btw Zeus was a Quizno before birth. I told my mom I was thinking about z and q names and Quizno stuck. I can hardly eat there since then.

With my first pregnancy we called the baby Paco until we found out.  With the next two babies nothing ever stuck until we picked their real name.

We called DD peanut while she was in the womb and still do sometimes, kind of odd since she ended up allergic to peanuts!

This time we're just calling the twins A & B, but DH started calling them that before we knew that it is how the medical community refers to twins, so it really works out

Has something to do with "Oh my!"...

Or...A, B, and C (also because of the medical world).

In the very beginning it was Parasite of Love (like the Lou Reed song...) or Dear Sir or Madam (as in "Dear Sir or Madam, please stop making me puke").  Then for a while it was Bowie, and Bubby, and Boobie (I don't know, don't ask), or Kernel Spangles (a friend's nickname - we know some creative folks).  Now that we know she's a she, the nicknames have kind of stopped, though, aside from my husband calling her "Chalupa Batman," which...yeah.

We didn't have a name at first, but it's been "Aardvark" (sometimes shortened to "varkie") for the past month or so. BIL seemed obsessed with names in the beginning of the alphabet for their DD, which led DH to joke about stealing the first possible name in the proverbial book.

I've been thinking of her/him as 'the kicker" recently ... not so creative.

Since we're not finding out the gender and I would prefer to avoid calling him/her "it", we agreed that for the most part DH can refer to the bean by male pronouns and I'll use the female. whoever starts a conversation sets the gender tone, so we have both bases covered.

I love it. We have been jokingly calling them random amusing twin names (Bert & Ernie, Jamie & Cersei - From Game of Thrones, etc.) but nothing has stuck.

OMG Jaime and Cersei!  Let's hope they don't get too friendly in there...

This one so far has really only been baby.  With our son he was always Oscar, because he made me sick and grouchy at the start and the baby we lost earlier this year was Carlos, named by our 5 year old.  I found it hard to name this baby and hope once we find out the gender it will be easier.

Oscar- when my boy was 2 or so he called this character ouchies and grouchies. Lol.

Clyde.

We were trying to think of names one day and joking I said "Clyde. Imagine if we named him Clyde? People would ask, 'oh, what's your baby's name?' and we'd answer 'Clyde.'" I thought it was hysterical, but now we all call the baby Clyde. Still makes me giggle. No idea if it is a boy or girl, although dh is hoping for a boy.

I love hearing all of yours, fun!

For a while, we changed the name weekly to whatever vegetable or fruit Babycenter.com mentioned on its due date calendar.  So last week, it was "The Turnip."  This week it is "The Pepper."

But now that we found out the gender, we've been calling her BG for Baby Girl.  And DH's last name starts with G so it also works as Baby DH's LastName.

you can call the babe Bonnie if it's a girl :)

We were calling it baby blue but this morning we went mushroom foraging( we got a giant basket of chantrelles and dh is cleaning them now as a I rest ;) I cant wait to eat them!) so now we are calling it our little mushroom :)
