Fetus names anyone?

What do you call that pre baby babe?

My 5 year old son and I were reading a book about palindromes. He is just getting to the point in reading where this was of interest! We had been thinking of baby names. I always tell him he can add to the list. We came across WOW in this book. Not only was it the same forward and back it is also mom upside down. Very impressive! So we tried it out "big brother Zeus and little Wow." Oh yeah a big hit. So it stuck. Btw Zeus was a Quizno before birth. I told my mom I was thinking about z and q names and Quizno stuck. I can hardly eat there since then.

When we first found out I was pregnant I told my partner that the baby was the size of a sesame seed. He started calling the baby Sesame and it stuck even though the next week I suggested changing the name to Blueberry or Kidney Bean. I told him that we could keep it (the name and the baby too) but we better not be having twins or we'd have to name the other one Flax.

When DH saw the little bean at our first ultrasound he laughed and said that it looked just like a little gusanito from cartoons when he was a little kid. I think it was a Bugs Bunny cartoon, and apparently there is a clever little worm who always manages to avoid the hook. But "gusanito" sounds a lot cuter than "worm"!

My 7 year old said, "Cletus!" one day and it stuck. Cletus the fetus. It's horrid, but hilarious at the same time. :) I'm excited to find out the gender of this little one, and want to refer to baby as its name...but my husband wants to wait to name the baby until after birth!

Ha ha that's hilarious!

My husband first called it "the Tadpole" or "T-pad" but soon I kept insisting that that wasn't an accurate name since it didn't have a tail anymore. Also my husbands first name is "Tristan" so the "T" had a double meaning for him I think.

the other night I called it "Cletus the Fetus" and my husband couldn't stop laughing so we've jokingly been referring the baby as Cletus the last few days too! ha ha

I've got a Flipper.  :)  Completely confirmed when we watched her (or likely a her) shimmy around like a Mexican jumping bean on our last ultrasound.

We both asked the tech if that was really what we were seeing or if it was the ultrasound machine doing it- he/she was twisting and turning and flailing around- it was bizarre to see because I didn't realize that it moved around so much this early!!

I love all of these! With DS, he was pumpkin, smurf or Bob.  This time around, it's just been "bean" -  nothing too creative yet!

At my dating ultrasound with my son, I was waiting for the ultrasound tech to tell me something-anything since the monitor wasn't facing me.  All I could see was that her face was tense and she kept making these "hmmm" type noises.  I asked her if something was wrong and if she had been able to see the baby, I was so worried! Then she looked embarrassed and laughed and said no - the baby was fine, it was just moving around SO much that she couldn't get a heart rate! SHe promptly turned the monitor so that I could see, and it was crazy, he was just bouncing around all over the place! He moved at that crazy pace for a while (I could start to feel it a little before 16 weeks at that point - only at night).  Until he got bigger, then he was much more laid back.

Nothing so far with this one.  In the past, we had "Nino" which was what my 2 year old called the growing baby...just a random sound I think but it stuck.  We've also had "Ruby" which is a favorite of my son Max since he loved the Max and Ruby cartoon at that time.  We really need a nickname for this baby. Hypnobabies asks you to call your fetus by name/nickname, and I've got nothing so far.

This is too funny - for my first, we called him Tadpole in utero, the whole time, and then named him Tristan. :)

For this one, that tadpole who is now 6 has dubbed the baby "Snowball."

In my first pregnancy, I was eating Mini-Wheats the cereal, and I said to my sister, the baby is about the size of this mini-wheat! And it stuck. We called the baby a mini wheat the whole pregnancy.

Then when I told her about this pregnancy, it just came right back. Me and my husband both call the baby that! Our little Mini-wheat!!

We call this one our little sun seed. :-) and my Sisters all call it Baby Hope.

My last babies were "Jumping Bean" but the 3 children have taken to introducing my stomach as "Mystery Baby" to complete strangers & family. Not as cute as some of your alls, but I'm glad they've never heard of Cletus. That made me laugh.
