Mamas in New Zealand!

So I kind of have this dream to move to New Zealand. I've been in love with it since high school. I was thinking about approaching my husband about it again...so what can ya'll tell me about foreigners moving in? We're from the U.S., my husband will be a RN. I'm a paramedic but also have a B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation and Psychology. We have two young children and want to live a simple life, homesteading and enjoying nature. LOL

:-) Hello there, I suggest you bring it up with your husband. I have to say we are incredibly lucky here in New Zealand. The weather is average, winter isn't really winter, but it depends where you are looking at living. I live in Auckland Nz's most populated city. We have just hit summer and boy is she warm this year. Lovely too. We've had a fair amount of rain in the past months.

I am absolutely sure your skills would be whole heartedly welcomed here in NZ. We're a friendly bunch always happy to help. One great thing about NZ is you are almost always only a short drive to somewhere semi-rural or coastal.

We have a lot of freedom here, homebirthing is become more and more normal these days. We have free maternity care here in NZ and our education system is pretty great if you were looking into that.
