Sibling Gift?

Is anyone doing sibling gifts for their older DC? I had never heard of it when I was pregnant with DS, but it seems like a really neat way to get DD and DS involved, and also not feel so left out.

Their baby sister? LOL, but honestly, nahh.. I got DD a "Big Sister" shirt to wear at the birth of DS, and probably will do that this time around too, but I don't think that's really a gift.

I'm planning on buying a few little things to help keep the girls occupied, especially since we're having a hb. Maybe some new craft supplies, a board game, etc.

When DD2 was born I got a charm for DD1's charm bracelet but didn't do anything like that when DD3 was born. Might consider doing it this time though.

We will also got to build a bear sometime in early March to make a bear for the baby, something for them to give to him/her at the birth (we did this when DD2 & DD3 were born and it's some of my favorite pictures!)

build a bear is a cute idea! We had ds1 pick out a stuffie to give to ds2 when he was born, but I can see how this would be much more personalized.  We've never taken the boys to build a bear, so that would be exciting in and of itself.

Our boys will be spending a day or two with grandparents since I'm having the baby in a hospital, so I'll leave it to the grandparents to spoil them and no doubt they'll get a gift or do something fun!

She's getting a necklace from us that says "Big Sis Lucy" - and I'll probably pick up a little present "from the baby." - Maybe an accessory for her Bitty Baby doll that her Great Grandparents are giving her for her birthday. That way she can mimic everything mom and dad are doing with her baby brother. She loves nurture play, so I think it will be a good choice for her.

I'm also going to take her to the store to pick out a present FOR the baby...because sometimes the best way to generate positive feelings for somebody, is to do something nice for them.

The Build-A-Bear idea sounds really great! I think I'll do that with my boys - who will be 4 & 2.5 yrs by time baby is born.

I want to get them a little something from the baby, but not sure what yet. I'll have to think about it...

When we were expect DD3, they let me older girls each put one of the little hearts inside (instead of just one). They thought that was extra special.

Awwww...that's very sweet! I'm not sure if build-a-bear will work as a gift from DD to Teddy though...because she'll probably just focus on the fact that she isn't getting one. Maybe I'll consider letting her make matching ones or something. I dunno though, I don't want him having a million stuffies...and I really want to get him an otter from me and his dad. Or a fox. Not sure why, but they just seem like the right animals for him.
