Last winter my daughter (then 18 months) got a cold which caused her to cough a lot at night. It lasted for 5 or 6 weeks! I took her to the doctor 3 or 4 weeks in (a pretty mainstream DO but told him we didn't want pharmaceuticals unless they were absolutely needed) and he said she was fine. Just keep doing what we already had been and wait it out. Eventually it went away but it was a long time. Well, on Tuesday she got a cold and here we go again with the coughing. I feel bad for the poor thing and I'm getting tired too. Here is what we do:
Humidifier
vit. d3
Cod liver oil
Probiotics
colloidal silver in her nose to help clear sinuses
elderberry syrup (last year I made one with other herbs but right now I just have a purchased one)
coconut oil/raw honey/bee propilus
elevate the head of her crib
eucalyptus on her feet and chest (tried garlic/coconut oil last year but her skin is sensitive and it gave her sores so that is out)
chiropractic adjustment so she is aligned to drain properly (haven't done that yet this time but I will try to this week)
Homemade broth as much as I can (she's my picky one so some days she'll take it and others not)
She can't have dairy so that's not contributing.
I think that's most of it. I'd just like to head it off MUCH sooner this time if I can. Any other ideas?
