Whether or not it counts, that was a very gracious thing to do.
have not been counting lately, but about one or two items a day "only"
just baught 2 bras on line & am planning to toss at least 10 old or ill fitting bras by next week end ....
will update numbers tomorrow when the children resume school (i just CANNOT concentrate and to "something for me" when they are around...)
space in their cabinets and room on their shelves .... i hear you there ... we attended our local expat Easter Bonnet Parade .... the newly elected president of our local association asked us to hang on to them until December for their planned cabaret ... that's not what i had intended (takes too much space !!!)
besides, i had to give back to DD2 her furry toy duck i had sewn at the front of my baseball cap & i should think that we will need our baseball caps (without all their decoration ) for the forthcoming summer !!!!
am sure she has a house with a lot of un-used room (children having left the nest) whereas we are a flat living family with young children.... who never want to part with ANY toys (and a room full i'm supposed to purge drastically in the next two weeks ...)
2 old stretched out shirts to trash
1 torn beyond repair leggings to trash
1 box of moxibustion sticks to friend who is an acupuncturist and might actually use them
2 easter baskets taken home by visiting cousins
1 roll of meeting notes on flip chart paper for our school's history archive (took photos so I could recycle without guilt, although no one will probably every look at them again)
10 service manuals & user guides for stuff we don't even have anymore (like vcrs and toaster ovens) recycled
1 plexiglass tray with married name given as wedding gift passed along to STBX (since it is his name he might enjoy using it)
1 big plastic liner to trash
1 decorative wood piece from bookshelves that just kept falling off to trash
5 big stack of documents and papers to burn in fireplace (way more than 5 pieces, but figure they shouldn't count per page since so small)
3 piece silk suit donated (meant to consign but held onto it for so long it isn't in style anymore)
1 black fax leather mini-skirt donated
1 co-sleeper wool pad donated
1 car seat insert donated
10 bag of bottles and bath stuff donated
3 books on birth given away to young aspiring midwife
4 throw pillows donated
3 table cloths donated
3 place mats donated
1 rug donated
2 chair cushions donated
2 magazine sorters donated
4 piece grilling set donated
1 glass bowl donated
1 cat feeder donated
10 bag of random tools and odds and ends (wire, locks, pipes) from basement tools bench donated
2 baskets donated
1 old badminton racket donated
78 items gone!
And today, for the first time in a long time, I felt like I could just relax and spend time with my girls. I still have LOTS more to do before I'm where I want to be, but I'm starting to feel like my space is getting a bit lighter.
3 more items put away for donation (1 toy, 1 dress & 1 pair of pants.)
I haven't been able to declutter as much as I'd like, due to a raging headache that I've had for 3 days.
Hoping it goes away tomorrow so I can continue. Last week I sorted the girls' clothing in preparation, so hopefully culling shouldn't be too hard an exercise.
312 / 2013
Went through some kid clothes... 29 more peices of clothing and 1 baby bath are leaving our home! :)
342 / 2013
Off to do a little more decluttering... I am eyeing something right now that I know can go.
Edited: 115 unopened medium sized chocolate eggs and bunnies are making their way to the food bank. I thought I'd count each 10 eggs as 1 item, so 11 more items.
1 more toy put for donation.
2 unwanted items put aside to be returned for a refund (tomorrow).
Also went through the playdoh box - 24 playdoh toys have been put for donation.
Tally is now at 380 / 2013
Oh my goodness, I totally forgot that saying! Is that, perhaps, why I feel this way? Must be a subconscious thing.
