VBAC at Hudson Valley Hospital Center

Hi there. Has anyone had a VBAC at Hudson Valley Hospital Center? Who was your provider? What is their protocol for VBAC?

I am considering Hudson Valley for my next pregnancy (not pregnant yet) mainly because they offer water birth. I don't know, though, if I would be permitted because of my previous c-section. I would love to try a homebirth but my husband is not comfortable with that.

Thanks!

I have heard great things about doctors and the birthing experience ( vaginal, cs, vbac) at HVHC. I used to live in Poughkeepsie.

How far are you from the Rhinebeck birthing center/cottage? It is hospital run but I have heard great things. Just not sure about their VBAC protocol. If you are willing to consider home birth, River Mountain Midwives with Susan Rannestad makes for an excellent choice. If you have any questions, you can message me and I will forward your contact info to some doulas or midwives in the HV region if I cannot answer :) I do know, however, that it's advised to stay far away from Vassar. They automatically section for any baby estimated to be 10 lbs or more via u/s.

I gave birth at Northern Dutchess Neugarten Birthing Center in Rhinebeck in January. It was an amazing experience. The practice I used is Rhinebeck Women's Health through MidHudson Medical Group that is made up with Midwives and OB/GYNs. I'm not sure what their policy is on VBAC but judging on how liberal they seem it may be an option.

I gave birth at HVHC and can not say enough wonderful things about the hospital. The hospital is extremely pro VBAC and for natural birth. Each hospital room has a birthing tub (that I took full advantage of) and the nursing staff is so encouraging.

I use Westchester Medical Practice, http://wmpny.com/obgyn.asp . The doctors and midwives are amazing.
