Bump Fashion! - Page 3

Tenk, I would just get a couple of sweaters to go over the short sleeved shirts...I was pregnant over the summer last time, so I just went out and found some wraps/sweatshirts to layer with...its not as cute as real outfits, but it works smile.gif

BabySmurf's striped shirt from the belly thread inspired today's outfit. It's not a maternity top, but long enough that it still covers the ever-expanding bump!

Yay! You look so cute!

Here is the striped shirt I got from Motherhood maternity.  DH and I decided to try out Macy's after Christmas sale, and we have a (very small) motherhood maternity section there.  Unfortunately nothing I bought was on sale - there was really only remnants from last summer irked.gif.  I got a couple of shirts that I liked, and I will say that the pajamas are amazingly comfortable - I may have to go back for more.  I got a couple of the nightgowns last time and they were kind of matronly looking, but this time I got the pant sets, and they are so nice and soft and cozy that I forsee a lot of jammie days in my future!

It's not a great photo, I'll try to get better next time!! The pants, which you probably can't see are Motherhood from when I was pregnant with DS...they are pretty cute, but definitely stretch out after a couple of hours.

I have nothing cute to post yet, but I just ordered jeans from online at JC pennys for only $15 and they ship to the store for free.  Much better than the $50 pair I found at Mothering. I am in plus size so I always have a hard time finding good deal. Stoked about my new online adventure.

Tenk I may have mentioned this already, but have had great luck at Savers (our areas second hand store). I had the same no long sleeve shirt problem and was FREEZING all the time. So I went on a crazy mission. I checked all the online stores I knew about and couldn't find anything that worked (I can't handle synthetic materials and I guess 100% can be hard to find). I got crazy frustrated and was starting to drive my husband crazy :). Then I found a few l/s shirts as well as other stuff at Savers for less than $5 each.

Cute pictures!! Thanks for sharing websites and fashion tips. I woke up this morning to a visibly larger bump and the rubber band no longer is cutting it so I wore leggings w/ tall boots and a tshirt/ cardigan but felt awkward because my thighs/ bum are growing too.... :/ I'm starting the paleo diet tomorrow and going to the gym after taking the past 4 months off.

Thank goodness I got pregnant at around the same time of year as last time (just one month ahead) so most of what I had last time will work again! I've been in maternity pants since ten weeks (which was challenging given that I didn't want my bosses to know until 14 weeks) but I still have one pair of Old Navy 'sweetheart' jeans that I can wear. Thank goodness for low-rise :) I can still wear a few stretchy long-sleeve shirts but it's obvious I'm pregnant. I like wearing pants with either a fitted or flowy tank with one of my regular cardigans overtop -- sure I can't do it up, but I'm warm :)

When I found out I was pregnant, I went on Old Navy's website (since I don't like either Motherhood or Thyme Maternity's fit, and in Canada we have limited choices) and found most of their spring/summer stuff was on clearance. I ordered a ton knowing that I'd be hugest in late spring-early summer and it would all work really well then.

For bras... I confess, I don't even bother. I got hooked on Glamourmom Long Top nursing tanks with my son and, since he is still nursing a few times a day, I can justify continuing to wear them :)  I'm long waisted and busty, so the long top provides enough coverage and support, plus I love that I don't have to show my mummy tummy while nursing and any shirt is a nursing shirt (pull up shirt, pull down flap, latch baby and nothing to be seen).

Ok, so i went through my closet tiday, weeding out the stuff that no longer fits and making room for a new batch of clothes that I ordered yesterday (5 or 6 long sleeved shirts and two pairs of pants for $4 out of pocket!)

I really like the look of a high belt under the BOOBZ, to give some shape and definition. But I only have one or two belts that work that way. I have a bunch of sashes, headscarfs, and handkerchiefs, so Í tried using those, but I'm not sure how i feel about the look of the ties in back.

Anyhow, i took a ton of pictures, so I'm spamming this thread with them!

kitteh - I want to know how you got such a great deal! $4 out of pocket? HOW?

I use the old navy credit card to earn rewards points. For Nov and Dec they were having 5X the rewards for purchases at grocery stores, so every grocery purchase went on the card. Then I combine the rewards points with a promo code (I usually try to wait for one of the good ones, 30-40% off) and use them together. I've gotten a whole closet full of stuff that way and haven't spent more than $30 bucks out of pocket in total. Old Navy isn't the highest quality stuff, but since I'll only need it to last for a few months it works!

Thanks! So you don't think it looks silly with the sash hanging down the back?

Thanks! I got it at a vintage shop in WV for $15!  It's grey and yellow, and I envisioned wearing it with a fitted grey dress that hits slightly above the knee, but I can't seem to find one! So I'm thinking skinny jeans and a grey or yellow shirt will work too.

I'm looking for a big red necklace to match the red belt from the first photo of the teal shirt, something like this but red:

That coat makes me want to check out my closet and or thrift store to find a dress I can split down the front. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm going to check out the Old Navy cc! I shop there fairly often. I found a few skirts at Savers yesterday. The maternity pants were too short
for me so those didn't work, but I found a few skirts that were a few sizes too big and I'll wear the Bella band with them.

Also, anyone have any tips for finding a swimsuit? I'm going on vacation the first week of feb. I was looking for a tankini with underwire for DD or E cup size and bottoms w/ a wrap to hide my growing bum. I searched the internet for hours last night. They're either sold out of black or $200 for a set (can't afford)....

Kitteh - did you get the clothes in regular lengths? I want to get some stuff from ON, but I'm afraid that they are going to be too short both in the pants and in the shirts :/

JNjala - I had a really hard time finding suits in those sizes.  I would recommend trying to find a store to try things on in....I had to get bras from Lady Grace (they also have swimsuits), but they aren't cheap in the larger cup sizes...larger cup sizes are never cheap, lol! But they will have a bigger range of sizes. I'm not sure that there is a store near you, but even if you can try a bra so that you know how the sizes run it will give you a good idea of things.  I *think* they had maternity swimsuits, at least online if not in the store.

I found a maternity suit at cottonbabies.com that I ordered on clearance. Cross my fingers. I haven't gotten it yet but I will post a review.
