I finished a project today that I've been meaning to do for at least 5 years, probably longer!
There may be something to this whole thing about doing creative projects during the TWW
heh.

Woohoo! I made cookies with my daughter and the two boys I am watching to take over to our new neighbors. I also just have to paint the trim on Dd's new bookshelf and then it's done and ready to go into the playroom. I still have tons to do this week though, but it's okay because I have time lol.
Hurray for completions! I made cookies too!! Really had a hankering for mint choc chip, but no mint chips so I used regular chips and a couple drops of peppermint doTERRA essential oil. They're so yummy!!
That sounds good! My friend sent me some homemade peppermint bark last week and it is amazing. I'm usually not a fan of chocolate and mint together, but I love peppermint bark.
Sparkle - You and I are in a similar love affair with BBC shows. In fact, one of the best perks to living abroad is that we get all the shows way before they air in America. We're already half-way through the third season of Downton Abbey. This has been a glorious distraction :)
LilyKay - Best of luck with testing over the next few days. And best of luck with remaining zen, regardless of the outcome.
AFM - We've had no internet at home since last weekend which has actually been a wonderful thing as it's prevented me from obsessing and Googling. Instead, I've had no choice but to focus on having a good time (perhaps too good a time!) with DH and friends. In light of my indulgences I've decided to approach this month with a far more laissez faire attitude and go back to the craziness in January since I'm not exactly setting myself up for success. Case in point -- I'm at CD 13 today and have only temped like four times. This is like unprecedented for me. I even had a cup of coffee this morning. Gasp.
Oh man, all this talk about peppermint chocolate desserts has me craving them!! Maybe I'll do some baking, and try new recipes during my TWW, which I guess will be starting tomorrow... my OPKs are fading a little now, so I guess my wait is coming. Maybe it's a good thing that I procrastinated so much on my holiday shopping... It'll give me something to do other than obsess!
Good Luck everyone! I hope to see some nice bfp's soon!
I love BBC shows too, someone here in the U.S. gave me a website to get to watch the 3rd season of Downton Abbey online and I already went through it. Gah, come on season 4! I am thinking this week I will spend a lot of time doing my projects and when I am not cleaning or crafting I will be sitting at the t.v. with my knitting and tea watching some BBC shows. I have already watched all their versions of the classics (Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, etc.) more times than I can count so does anyone have any new suggestions. I love any type of historical inspired shows.
Thanks ladies, I am now watching Sherlock on Netflix instead of writing my lesson plans which are due in 4 hours lol. Yay for procastination :)
John16- So you're a teacher? That's awesome :) What age group?
I'm not a teacher yet, I'm a senior in college getting my bachelors in elementary education with an emphasis in early childhood education. The lesson plans are 4th grade English lesson plans for a class I am taking. I am hoping to teach kindergarten someday though :)
I just watch and think, "OMG, why would anyone DO that????!?!?!" And, "I can't believe that guy WANTS to be in that ring!!!!" And, on and on. It's the "watching the train wreck" scenario or the police chase on Fox News.

Xerxella -- Sorry that must be so frustrating to want to move on and not be able to yet... Glad to hear the holidays are providing you a modicum of distraction.
John16 -- Try Tess of the D'Urbervilles. I think it's available on Netflix, and if not definitely YouTube. It's kind of depressing, so prepare yourself, but so very British. Another one I like is North and South which is also on Netflix and YouTube. Both very long and distracting miniseries!
AFM -- Got a positive OPK last night at like 11 p.m. which was actually exciting bc for the past few months I haven't had positives -- only near positives (I think I got a faulty batch of wondfos -- this month I broke down and bought some FR OPKs). I expect to O either today or tomorrow so thus (hopefully) begins my TWW. We're heading home for the holidays which will involve A LOT of traveling so I'm ecstatic to have something to take my mind off of it.
xx
Xerxella- I'm sorry you're stuck in a limbo right now, how frustrating!
John- Very cool! I studied some elem. education as well.. my degree is a work in progress, as of now though. I took time off and have yet to go back. Kindergarten is one of my fave ages though! Good for you :)
Oasis- Sending you baby dust!
I have a question. Does the TWW technically start the day you ovulate, or a day or 2 after? I am 99% sure I ovualted on Friday, because I got positive Wondfo OPKs that morning and a negative Clearblue OPK that morning, then another positive Wondfo and a positive Clearblue OPK that evening. On saturday Wondfo still had a positive line, but Clearblue was negative. I'm taking that to mean that the biggest LH surge was on Friday. Does that sound legit?
dahlia -- You won't O until 24-36 hours after your LH surge. So if your peak surge was sometime on Friday, you'll likely O on Saturday or early Sunday -- although there's no real way to pinpoint this unless you're temping. They say (whoever "they" is) that the first positive OPK is the only one that really matters. So as long as you're sure it was a positive and not a near positive (I always find it difficult to tell with wondfos), I'd consider your surge happening sometime Friday morning or early afternoon. Keep in mind it can take awhile for the OPK to read negative after the surge depending on how quickly your body is dispensing away with the hormone -- that's why you're only supposed to really consider the first positive test and forget the rest. You should also keep BDing up to and including the day you get a positive.
The TWW officially starts the day after you O -- so 1 DPO. If you did in fact O on Saturday, then Sunday would be the first day of your TWW and the first day of your luteal phase (since they are one in the same).
Hope that helps.
Thanks, that's a lot of help. Glad we've been very... ahem.. "busy". hahaha. I'm sure it was a big positive on Friday- the test line on the Wondfo's were verrry dark and showed up before the ink had even fully dispensed to the control line. That, coupled with the positive Clearblue OPK on Friday evening, makes me feel very secure that I O'd most likely on Sat/early Sunday (BD'd at both of those times yay!). I knew my O was on it's way judging by my CM, so we have been doing the BD since last Wed..... I need a nap hahaha!
This is my first tww :) Exciting and nervewracking... !
Oasis- I have seen North and South but will definitely look up the other one!
dahlia- Good luck in the TWW, I hope you caught the egg!
AFM- I am still kind of in shock at how nonchalant I feel this cycle. AF has stopped and the last time we tried I was all over Dh up until O was confirmed. Now I don't think I will worry about it until EWCM shows up, which should be Wednesday or Thursday. For lack of a better term, I am just kind of 'eh' about this cycle. Hopefully that's a good thing, because since I really want an October baby I know you ladies will have to help me stay sane next cycle if I don't get a BFP this one.
Best of luck, dahlia and John!!
Xerxella-
I'm sorry your body is just stuck right now. Just a suggestion - maybe try some visualizations to possibly start the process of release? Sometimes if you talk to your body in meditation you can remove blocks. You asked how old I am- I'm 36 and DH is 41 still ttc our first.
On the topic of baking: don't use olive oil for brownies if you run out of grapeseed oil, they'll taste funky (like olive oil), now I have to make another batch just to clear the memory of those (since I did eat them all, didn't want them to go to waste...)
oasis: glad to hear you're able to relax a bit. Good luck this cycle!
John16n33: sooo... this website for Downton Abbey... is that information you can share? I enjoyed North and South. I also watched The Forsythe Saga, that was ok.
Xerxella: I can relate to wanting to see the bleeding since it's the crucial step in being able to move on. I hope you're doing ok. It makes sense that you would want to do some pre-screening, it could save you more heart ache. How does your DH feel about that plan?
As for UFC: we were into a couple of years ago but then we got rid of our cable so now we're not so much on top of it anymore. I used to work with Keith Jardine (same workplace, not as a client) and he has a gym here in town. We always cheer for the guys from Greg Jackson's gym since we are from Albuquerque.
dahlia: sounds like you got the timing right. Good luck!
AFM: we got all our christmas presents bought on Saturday and shipped ahead, yay! Also DH got a bonus at work so I got new boots, fancy knee high boots from Aldo, I'll look into posting a picture.
On the TTC front I got a somewhat positive OPK this morning and we've been BDing at leisure so we'll see what happens.
Dakipoke- Thanks, I hope this is the month for us
Yay for new boots!! You're making me want to shop, I loooove Aldo. But, I haven't even STARTED my Christmas shopping, soo I should probably get that done first haha
Oasis and John- Thanks!
Good Luck to you all in your cycles!
