I've joined the crazy dreams group. I remember last pregnancy, I had these really detailed dreams about DH having an affair to the point that I was mad at him! He was a very good sport about it and it became a sort of joke with us, but it was SO vivid it felt real. Last night I was back in the room where I spent part of my childhood and it was haunted and scary things kept happening and I was screaming for my mom to come and get me, but she didn't believe me it was haunted. I woke up so scared; it took me awhile to go back to sleep, even knowing I am not a helpless kid, not in that room, and had my husby, son, and best good dog all in bed with me.

I had an u/s on Monday and to my surprise/delight, I was actually 8 weeks instead of 7 with an EDD of 7/29. i don't put a ton of stock into the date for birthing purposes, but if it means first trimester is over sooner: i'm for that! I guess my sickness/HCG will probably spike over Christmas, but I am just eager to get through the nausea hell. It lasted a long time with my first, but still: one week closer!

How are y'all feeling about Christmas? I am slightly panicked about my in-laws coming. Our house is cramped under the best circumstances, but unlike usual, I have zero energy for cleaning, cooking (not to mention repulsion by most food)- which I usually do all of, and setting up the guest room and air bed for my SIL. My SIL is very sweet, but she has absolutely no understanding/sympathy for/compassion for my pregnant self or very similar to my FIL is just kind of clueless. I could be collapsed on the floor vomiting and she'd be like- why don't you fix some of your cottage cheese pancakes I like so much?! Ha. Oh...this could get interesting.

How much effort are y'all putting into the holidays?

Resigned.  I'm sure the excitement will kick in later, once we're more used to the ides and have told more people.  We have 4 kids, so we do love babies - but I was finding 4 was stretching my limits in terms of energy and patience.  It will be interesting to see if my patience and energy expand to encompass this new one (and let's hope this one isn't my first colicky baby!!!).

My kidlets, I was baby #5, born 6 1/2 years after the next youngest (others all 2 years apart), definitely a surprise and maybe not a welcome one as my parents' marriage was deeply troubled. But as it worked out, I turned out to be the best one. wink1.gif hee hee. My mom always tells me how happy she is she hung on for me.

Nobody, but the 3 of us and I'm making pizza.  orngtongue.gif  Did the whole shebang for Thanksgiving, so were going easy on Christmas.

So jealous. Can I make a "KEEP OUT!" Sign for my door? DH doesn't understand what the big deal is if he's "doing all the cooking." By this he means he's making some meat and nothing else. And he's said nothing about linens on the beds...oh me! Oh my!

Xmas is almost always just us. This year we have friends who are moving to Geneva with DH a couple of weeks after Xmas, since their apt is boxed up they'll be joining us. I love them, but I wish we hadn't invited them. I'm starting to feel pretty bad greensad.gif

If I could hold off another week. It would be awesome. Or if this time was like my second time (I won't even wish for the first time, where I had headaches instead of m/s. that's asking for too much! Lol) where at least it was manageable. I'm just afraid that it will be as bad or worse than last time, which was pretty debilating.

I've always heard that m/s tended to get worse with each pregnancy. Please, someone tell me it's not true for them. Please??

Well, this has been a cruddy day so far.  Much drama from DS this morning so I couldn't get to work early to avoid weather later.  My sister was supposed to fly in from Florida tonight.  Flight is cancelled, even though they're not even calling for that much snow right here in Milwaukee and now she's arriving SUNDAY.  DS is going to be so sad, plus it throws a huge wrench in our plans.  Stupid weather.  Friend's e-gift card has gotten lost in intertube limbo, ruined the surprise.

Throwing myself a pity party.  partytime.gif

Sorry for the crappy day GIS. It can only get better, right?!

For Christmas plans, we go to my aunt's house to see my extended family (cousins, etc.) on Christmas Eve and then we host Christmas day dinner with DP's brother, sister in law and sis in law's mom. 2 good friends are joining us too. I like having people over even though our place is very, very small. Boxing day is usually spent with DP's extended family. I have my u/s this afternoon and am having major doubt and anxiety this morning :( I just hope I can keep it together over the holidays if the results aren't good.

I hope so!  I decided to lighten the mood by spilling the beans to my sister about the pregnancy.  I was going to tell her at the airport, but now it looks like my DH will have to pick her up, so I figured, why not.  I told her she had to drink for two this year because I was eating for two.  ;)

Good luck with your u/s this morning Carmen358!

I'm excited for Christmas.....just hoping I'm not too nauseous to enjoy all our family gatherings.  If I'm proactive and eat regularly, about every hour, I feel a bit better, but I'm a little worried that I'm going to look like a crazy pregnant woman gorging herself all the time!  It's not that I'm always starving, I just know I HAVE to eat, or suffer the consequences.

Is anyone else really having aversions to sugary foods?  Usually I love all the yummy homemade goodies at Christmas, and last night a good friend of mine brought me a tin of homemade fudge (I'm a huge chocolate fan!), and I opened it up and took one whiff, and felt sick.  I haven't even had one little taste, it just doesn't appeal to me!  But a good juicy steak or something......yum!  (I'm going to go eat some bacon and eggs I think!)

How fun!  Was she excited?  I'm so excited to tell my sister, I'm waiting until Saturday....we're having them over for dinner and then driving around to look at lights.  It's been killing me to wait this long, but I wanted it to be an exciting Christmas surprise!  :)

I can't decide what is going on with nausea! IF I don't eat for awhile I feel nauseous, but then shortly after I eat I feel nauseous again, sometimes even worse. It seems night time is the worse, I was laying in bed last night feeling kind of yuck at 10pm. Thankfully it is not terrible nausea but I fear it is only going to get worse, just in time for our 12 hour road trip on Saturday. Blech. I wouldn't mind waiting until later to tell family (I am only 5ish weeks), but I don't think DH will be able to contain himself, and frankly, I can't wait to tell my parents either. We will probably wait until about 8 weeks to tell others though. (If I can hide the nausea and fatigue!)

My m/s got worse for the first 3 pregnancies, then was almost non-existent for the 4th.  I think it's because I was more rested with my 4th pregnancy (dd2 was sleeping well, etc).  We'll see if my theory holds up this time!

I started B6 (50 mg 3-4 times a day) and it is helping with the m/s so far. Food is a fun game of what looks like something I want to eat. Dominos last night because that is what I wanted. I also had instant mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli with cheese for lunch yesterday. But I am craving Coke so much less than usual.

We have the class hamster home for the holidays and I get a wiff of hamster pee from a few parts of the house (but the cage itself is pretty clean). I may spend half the holidays washing the darn thing.

I think so?  lol.gif  Hard to tell via e-mail... she doesn't have kids of her own (or an SO for that matter, that's a whole other story), so she's got a different outlook on life.  She does enjoy spending time with DS though.  I think she could do without babies.  Apparently I traumatized her, I was born when she was 12.5 years old and apparently I was a very spitty baby.  Sheepish.gif

Oh, and I wish I could share the aversion to sugary foods, I'd probably be better off.  But I hear you on the bacon and eggs!  I think I finally overdid it on the treats though, and learned my lesson.  Yesterday was our big office potluck and I had waaay too much dessert.

I have a thing for Pintrest. Started when I was looking for something to do nursing Bee (and holding sleeping Bee) and it is the most clean fun I could find online to do with one hand.

Anyway, they just started secret boards, for holiday gifts, but I have set one up for Iggy and one up for preggo things like homebirth. Somewhere to put all my ideas, since there is 0 chance most of them would stay in my head.

My nausea has actually been almost non-existent today! However, I had my viability u/s and after 5 m/c I finally got to see a perfect beating heart and the little bean is measuring exactly right on. RE wants to do another one on Jan. 3 just to make sure growth is ok and then I hope to transfer to the same midwife team I was with for my DD's birth. One hurdle over!

Yay for good news, Carmen!

Congrats Carmen!!! How wonderful see a little heartbeat! smile.gif

Today my nausea is yucky! I couldn't finish my oatmeal this morning.....and then later all I wanted was leftover beef stew from last night, but about halfway through the bowl I could hardly stomach it! On the plus side, I did get all my kids' presents wrapped on their last morning at school! smile.gif
