In need of Answers/Opinions!!

I have a 18 month old and a 4 month old that are suppose to be going in soon for shots. My friend recently went in for her daughters 18 month shots and 3 days after shots, if she was in a certain position she would yell "owie" and would be like stuck. She is thinking it could be some kind of arthitis that was caused by shots?? maybe juevenile arthiritis?? I am just paranoid now and i am not very good at researching and educating myself. I am a believer in some shots but i dont think you need them all. Could someone help me (that has done their research and are not against all shots) and give me some opinions and answers?? What shots do you really not need?? Side affects etc? Im hearing more and more stories with vaccines and it just gives me a twisted stomach. How do i know im doing the right thing?! Help guys? Yes, it's possible the MMR gave the child mild arthritis.  It's in the list of side effects for that vax.

16. Known side-effects of the vaccine and rate of incidence of those side-effects
17. Possible side-effects not yet acknowledged by the vaccine maker
18. Relevant research into the vaccine
19. How effective is the vaccine at preventing the disease?
20.What is the vaccine meant to do? (Many vaccines are not meant to prevent infection or transmission).
21.Number of cases reported each year.
22.Number of deaths reported each year from the vaccine and natural disease.
