I was away from mdc for awhile and just now figured out where the cool people are! Groups! Hah!
We are currently full timing, but have parked for a school year as we landed on a perfect kindergarten. We'll be back in the rig in May and workkamping for free parking for a couple of months while school wraps up, then most likely west--or in the rare event that I pick up some kind of work I may entertain another year in this location.
When we're on the road, we stay about a month everywhere. I'm paid on the 15th of the month, so it's a great time to pay the month of RV park rent. They are always cheaper by the month or season than by the week, etc.
DD was a shy, shy girl when we started out. She'd been in FT daycare since 6 weeks old, and it was great to finally have ourselves to ourselves. That said, it took a couple of months, and she was finally tired of me! LOL! She started branching out and made a bunch of friends that are now penpals. Sometimes, the kids were untamed wild things, and sometimes shyer than DD, but overall we've met really nice kiddos on our travels. Before we chose a new town, the first step would be wifi, or whether my personal net access thingers would work, and then I'd check out the libraries, whether there were classes (we once joined up with a dance class for a month) and that sort of thing. Mostly, the rv parks we went to had some kind of kid thing, but DD spent most of our travelling times collecting nature, butterflies (we coslept with about 10 for a while)..that kind of thing. We found a lot of cheap, fun, real things to do, and even though most of my family thought I was doing some kind of damage to dd for being on the road, I found it to be the very best thing ever. I can't wait to hitch back up again after winter and find our new destination!
I'll post more later if I get some more ideas
