Have GBS, really bummed, help me feel better? - Page 3

I would take it if you are interested in ridding yourself of the infection now, but if you are asymptomatic or don't care about that then I wouldn't.  That much garlic was honestly the hardest thing for me to take.    I definitely would start it a solid 4-5 weeks until your swab.  You can also do an external hibiclens wash if you intend to do one before labor as well. :)

Oh I am definitely symptomatic. At least blatantly from the YI. Who knows what my symptoms are from the GBS, as bacterial infections are harder for me to pinpoint. I wonder if the oral garlic works as effectively as the ahem, non-oral. I'm hesitant on jumping from 10 Bill to 80 with the acidophilous so maybe I'll work my way up...jumping from 10 to 20.

I appreciate everyone's feedback! So helpful!

Garlic works great. My midwife just gave me GBS info and one of the things she said was to crush or press the garlic clove and let it sit for 10 minutes, which helps activate the antibiotic properties. Then wash it down with orange juice, as the vitamin C activates them as well. The other day I crushed garlic and washed it down with emergen C and I swear it gave my body the edge it needed to fight off a cold that was developing.

Along with that, she recommends for clients that test positive at 34 weeks to do the garlic suppositories that you're already doing and a few other things. None sound particularly risky, regardless, but you may want to run anything you want to try by your care provider beforehand.

Take Immune Power Colostrum (4 capsules daily)

2 probiotics daily, preferably KE-99 LACTO or acidophilus pearls because they both have a high survival rate in the GI tract.

Soak natural tampons in organic olive oil until saturated, then tea tree oil and insert into vagina for 30 minutes. Also do the same with a q tip (soak in olive oil, then tea tree oil) but insert tip into rectum for half hour. Do this every day for 7 days, then every other day for 10 days, then daily again until delivery.
