Any Northern Kentucky mothers here??

Hello ladies,

I was directed here by the NKY coalition of home birthing liaison.

I consider myself a somewhat "crunchy" momma. We practice natural parenting. I live in NKY and most of the time feel like an outsider here. I have one other semi-crunchy friend and that's about it. It's very mainstream here so I am hoping to locate other like minded mommas to form friendships and a playgroup. I have searched high and low for a natural parenting playgroup/group of mommas near me and they are either way to far north(dayton area) or way to far south(lexington). I can find nothing in NKY.

So I decided to try to start one myself. :)

Any mommas in the area that would be interested? I hope to make some new like minded friends in my area. I know I can't be the only one. winky.gif

If you are a homebirther, you could come to one of the homebirth circle meetings (twice a month, one located in downtown Cincy). Join the yahoo list for Cincinnati Homebirth and you can get the times/locations for that month's meetings. I'm sure you would meet people who are like-minded there.

I know how you feel. Not yet a mother but am trying to live a natural life style and it is hard in this area. No friends have the same views as me. We are planning to have a baby and my mom thinks I am crazy when I talk about cloth diapers. Hard to get friends to understand how much better it is to have a healthy natural "crunchy" life style.

I am a momma-to-be living in northern kentucky. I moved here in November with my husband who grew up here. This is our first child and she is due in August. I too am a supporter of living naturally although it sure isnt easy to do! Takes a lot of preparation and attention. I ended up here while I was researching pediatricians in the nky area who are vaccine friendly, as we have decided not to vaccinate our child.

Just moved here from NYC. Living in st. Matthews are. Baby is due June 15! New to natural parenting but love the idea. What are the biggest things with natural parenting? Also have you found any support groups? I'm in the process of trying to gather up a support team since my family and my husbands family live in Chicago. We move a lot for his job...

Call the Waldorf School and ask to be in the communique!  You'll find like minded people there.

We are practically neighbors-I am in Crescent Hill off Lexington.I'm sure you've probably been there by now, but Mama's hip has great resources-or so I hear. We are new to natural parenting as well. How is it going for you?

Were you able to find a practice to your liking? Dr. Laura White is in Shelbyville (25 minutes away) & is likely accepting new patients. We went to her as new patients right after DS was born. Though unfortunately, due to the drive, we are still in the market for the metro area. Suggestions would be oh so helpful!
