Hunger

Is anybody else insatiable lately?

Over the last few days my appetite can just NOT be appeased. I'm trying to not eat more than an extra 300 calories a day, as recommended. But I just want to eat, and eat, and eat. I say to myself "well, I'll just have a snack to tide me over until meal time." But it doesn't help. I'm still hungry!

That's exactly how I have felt for the past 3 weeks or so.  I'm either full (right after a big meal) or starving, there's no in between.  I wake up starving and I feel like food barely sticks by me after I eat no matter how much.  I've always been pretty small and didn't eat much so it's strange for me.  I hope i don't gain too much weight but I lost almost 10lbs in the first trimester with morning sickness and I'm only 5 or 6 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight now so I think I'm doing okay so far.  And I hate to admit I've been turning to some more unhealthy foods (chocolate mostly or really salty, fatty foods) lately in my search to feel full. The more calories the better.  But I try to be good.

I am always feeling really hungry but then when I go to eat, I can't stomach much before I'm bloated and full.

I am famished all.the.time.... My DH told me the look in my eyes is like I've been stranded in the desert for months! But in reality it's only been an hr or so since I've eaten LOL

I really just eat whatever I want at this point (25 wks) I've only gained 2.8 lbs. so I don't really worry abt calories or eating in the middle of the night at this point. I also passed my glucose test with flying colors... So if I want some sugar, I eat that too lol I've been told around 30/32 weeks my appetite will decrease again, so I'm just eating what I want now, and that usually includes eating something like every hour LOL Nd being on bed rest, my DH has to bring me all my food. It's kinda driving him batty LOL

I gained at least ten pounds in the first trimester, so I'm trying not to overdo it anymore. But it's so hard to be so hungry at this time of year. There are goodies everywhere! lol

And yeah, I get the same problem with sitting down to eat a meal, and not being able to fit as much food in my stomach as I used to. Which just means I end up hungry again all the faster.

I feel so hungry all the time! Even when I eat, and I feel full, I'm still hungry. I've been trying to balance, and make sure that I'm eating just as much healthy stuff as the not-so-healthy stuff, if not more. I bought 20 pounds of oranges from a girl at work for $21, and between the kids and I, they are more than half gone, and we have not even had them a week yet. They're *so* tasty! But they're big, too, so I can't usually eat the whole thing, but I try. They rank up with the oranges my grandma and grandpa used to bring back from Florida every year.

I haven't been craving anything else, really, except I've been *loving* popcorn. My guilty pleasure. A movie, and a bag of popcorn. :)

You should check if your local stores have Clementines. They're in season, but I'm having a harder time finding them this year than in the past. They are SO good. Way better than regular oranges, and little, so easy to finish. They're also super easy to peel. My 4yo DD peels her own without any help whatsoever.

I can eat those things like candy.

Just watch out, because citrus can trigger prenatal heartburn for some women.

Ys I love clementines! I could eat an entire crate of those NOT pregnant! But I get horrible heartburn with reflux when I eat or drink anything acidic. Boooo :/ lol

We go through clementines like crazy each winter, too!

I have definitely been eating a TON lately.  The scale over the last couple of days has been horribly discouraging, but what's worse is that I haven't changed my eating habits because of it.  Dang.  I, too, am at the point where I CAN'T eat as much at once (because I either get crazy uncomfortable or really bloated and miserable), but yet I still find myself stuffing my face all the time.  It's ridiculous.

I've always wished I could be pregnant at a different time of year...I've always been pregnant over the holidays.  Sadly I lost every baby where I was due in fall or early winter.  But it would have been a nice change to not have such tasty temptations (and so many reasons to bake them) all the time.

I'm having a super starving 2nd tri this time around.  I've been feeling really positive about eating really WELL to satisfy that hunger, thankfully.

Clementines are being enjoyed here too, although my absolute favorite right now are satsuma tangerines.

I love clementines, too! Last time I got them, they had seeds in them, and the kids wouldn't touch them. But the stores finally re-stocked the Cuties ones, and DS, if forced, orngtongue.gif can peel his own Cuties.

Somehow, I'm just at my pre-pregnancy weight (back up ~5 pounds from first trimester), and was *down* two pounds in a week, from my first blood pressure appointment, to my second one a week later.

My first two were due in January and December, respectively, and were born in December and January, respectively. I've always wanted, like, a late spring to early fall baby. I guess this LO kind of fills that, but I was thinking more around June to August. But whatever, we're happy. :)

They (usually) do. I try and get the Cuties kind, because they're seedless, and at least for me, it's a PITA to try and get all the seeds out. Thankfully, I haven't had much heartburn this time around (knock on wood!), but I will keep that in mind. :)

Technically all Clementines should be seedless. But I do find that the Cuties brand is the most consistently tasty.

Seriously? I did not know that! Maybe what I got wasn't clementines, after all. It's hard sometimes to find labels on things here, and about half the time, things aren't in their "right" bins. I'll have to be more careful, next time.

Yup. Mandarins and Satsumas are the same size though. And I often find myself having to check the label because I can't tell from a gance which I'm seeing.

Even hybrids bred to be seedless (such as clemmies) will occasionally have a seed or two. But as a rule, the Clementine hybrid is seedless.

I have bought some that were nearly identical to the Cuties (in size and overall appearance, including packaging, but a different name obviously! LOL) and they had seeds.  So I have tried to be more careful about buying them too!!!
