We had our first u/s yesterday at my 12 week appt. I went in just hoping to hear the heartbeat, as well as begin to get to know our midwife a bit better. 
I had an u/s scheduled for the 24th, but the tech had an opening right while we were there so she told us to feel free to just get it done and not have to come all the way back out on Christmas Eve. 
I am over the moon that we got to see our little one.

It has helped alleviate a bunch of worries and I hope that will hold me until the 20 wk. scan.

Woo Hoo! Congrats!  Makes it so much more real, don't you find?

I can't wait to hear a heartbeat at least.  My sister in law just miscarried and I am worried about that.  Not for any real reason except that it happens to lots of people.

That's wonderful SAO! I can hardly wait to hear my little ones heartbeat, we tried with the Doppler at my first OB appt (was 11weeks) but couldn't find it, my next appt is in January and if everything is going well, I will hear it then

Congrats! My dating US was a great relief just to know that it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy and that it looked viable. I'm almost 9 weeks and am really looking forward to the second trimester!

Yey for everyone in this thread who's gotten to see their baby! 

I had my viability ultrasound yesterday and there was a good fast heartbeat and cute tiny bean with little arms and legs. My midwife was able to pick up the heartbeat on doppler really easy today as well. It's DOES make it more real and made it so I can finally accept this pregnancy. I feel very excited now.
