Has something like this been posted yet??

Have the vivid dreams came yet? Two nights in a row I've had dreams that are just so graphic and detailed... but AWFUL. Last night I dreamed(dreamt?) that I went to go get a bassinet of Craigslist and this lady killed me to steal the baby. I could feel and see everything after I was dead(like an out of body thing) and it was horrifying.. I woke up thinking it was real. Then tonight I kept dreaming of DH and I getting in MASSIVE fights, we broke up, etc.

I HATE this, I think I rather be exhausted than deal with this stress while asleep!

Omg! that sounds ike a horrible dream! how scary! and Yes I have horrific dreams 3/4 times a week. They are debilitating. greensad.gif the most reoccurring one is a dark cloud rushing twords me and into my stomach before I can get away... N it takes my baby greensad.gif I've had that one tons of times... It sucks. I've had a lot about being in a shooting tho, since the tragedy last week... Y poor hubby isn't sleeping well either cuz I can't calm down after I wake up from them til he turns the lights on and outs his arms around me... This sucks. I hope this goes away after the baby is born...

BeanBean, that's strange because I have had multiple dreams of being attacked by a dark horse, usually black. And all I try to do is save my baby. The horse stands straight up on his hind legs and starts striking at me.

I tried to look it up but couldn't really come to a conclusion. I can usually wake myself up before things get too bad. I'm thankful that I've always been able to wake myself up just right before something terrible happens.

My family owns about 30 horses and we show saddlebreds. (English prospect) but I have never had one attack me. I am very edgy around them but I don't think that one would strike at me like that. I don't know what causes those dreams!

Ugh.  Horrible dream. :(  I'm sorry.

I start getting the vivid dreams pretty much from the very start, and I hate them. :(  They always leave me feeling really awkward or really miserable.  I don't think I've ever had a really GOOD vivid dream during pregnancy!  I wish this was one aspect that I had some control over.  The nightmares are better/less if I fall asleep reading my Bible, but other than that I feel like I just have to deal with them.  Crappy thing to have to just "deal" with.

Ug, ladies, those dreams suck!! You're not alone, I'm getting them too. They also started for me pretty much right away. The weird thing is they were *way* worse when I was taking the cal/mag before bed so I stopped taking it. I'm not having any that are reoccuring, and usually by the time I wake up for the morning they've faded enough that I don't really remember them anymore, but the FEELING of having such an awful dream stays with me, sometimes all day. One weird thing is that I've b een pretty good about being able to recognize they're dreams while I'm still dreaming and know that it's not real (that's a trippy feeling!) and sometimes wake myself up. This is definitely NOT one of my favorite parts about being pregnant!

I have had dreams about getting back with my ex (sperm doner as I refer to his dumb a**) and me and my daughter escaping (I am pregnant in the dream) and my friends and family help hide us. He comes around in his van he used to have and starts yelling my name. I am beyond scared in the dreams and fear for our lives. He yelled in one of them that if I didn't come back to him, he would kill the baby. That's the scary one then I also have VERY vivid special dreams (get my drift? LOL) that wake me up before the good part (and its some dark haired, olive skinned guy in the dream, not anyone that I know.)

I don't like the scary ones either! I always have bizzare dreams but they have gotten worse since pregnancy.

I have horrid dreams, too, when I can actually sleep. Not my favorite thing.

I have very realistic dreams. Not usually scary but sometimes of things that are very serious. Mostly it's just *ahem* dreams that leave me Sheepish.gif when I wake up.

I know what you mean about "special" dreams lol!  I've had a few of those myself.  I wouldn't say my dreams have been scary exactly but very detailed and they felt like they went on and on for hours.  A lot of dreams where I'm running from something.  But they were more exciting and sometimes strange rather than scary.  I did have one weird one early on that scared me at the time but sounds ridiculous when I explain it to others.

In the dream I had just had the baby and was standing in my living room when I suddenly realized I hadn't tried breastfeeding yet.  So almost in a panic I rushed to get the baby and sat down to try.  The baby started talking and obviously I was quite surprised.  It said something like hello, how are you doing?  And I said "you can't talk you're just a baby".  The baby rolled it's eyes and started breastfeeding.  Suddenly it spit the milk out and started complaining that it tasted disgusting.  I started to respond and it goes "I know, I know, I'm not supposed to be talking."  And rolled it's eyes again before complaining some more.  I was pretty freaked out at this point thinking my baby was evil or something.  It started screaming and kicking and trying to bite me.  I was panicked and turned to look for help to find my boss sitting on my couch (she had never been to my house) watching my TV.  I said "What should I do?"  And she said "I don't know" disinterestedly without even looking at me.  So... and this is where it gets more weird... I grab a pill bottle and somehow put my normal sized baby in this small normal sized pill bottle and I'm holding the cover on tightly.  It's struggling and trying to get out and then suddenly stops moving.  At which point I start to panic more thinking that I've killed my baby!  I woke up then and was digging my thumbnail into the tip of my pointer finger which was the finger I was holding the cover of the bottle on with in the dream.

So yeah really weird.  And in most of my longer dreams I can usually figure out I'm dreaming but lately I don't get that feeling.

Oh, I also had a dream I brought my baby to meet my co-workers (I work at a bank) and accidentally walked out of the bank without my baby with my co-workers at closing time and didn't realize my baby wasn't with me until everyone had left.  And then I couldn't get anyone to come back and open the bank with me so I could get my baby back (hearing him crying the whole time through the door).  It was kind of weird because yes there is a rule that you can't open the bank unless another employee is with you but technically I could have opened it with my key and I certainly would have to get my child but in the dream i physically couldn't get the door to open without someone else.  I wondered if it stood for my worries about returning to work and leaving my baby behind at home after the first few weeks.

Last night I had a dream I went to the laundry mat(idk why, I have a washer and dryer..) to wash my cloth diapers, I put them in the dryer, went to go get pizza, and when I came back, all my diapers and burnt to a crisp... I woke up in a panic and went and checked to make sure my diapers were fine.. the husband definitely thinks I've hit "crazy" status now -.-

I keep having dreams where my ex insists the baby is his, then trying to steal it away, and I am running away trying to protect my kids and myself. He's always trying to kill us. Not same surroundings, but four or five times, the same type of dream. greensad.gif

Last night, I dreamed that we lived in a yurt, completely constructed of empty toilet paper tubes and pepper jack cheese stick, and I was very proud of how green and crunchy I was.

Earlier tonight, I dreamed that there was a woman trapped in a space time continuum, and I wanted to help her, but if I helped pull her out, she would be in my house. Since she was a stranger, I didn't want her in my house, so I didn't help her, but then found my legs being sucked in, at which point I woke up, and realized that DD had kicked my legs, and they were dangling over the side of the bed. orngtongue.gif

I haven't been dreaming much, but last night I did.

I dreamed I had one more ultrasound, and a week later they called to tell me my insurance wouldn't cover it. And I panicked and said "but I also have this and this insurance. Will they cover it?" They told me no, then told me I had to come in right away for another because they thought I had a toxic infection and the baby was most likely going to die. greensad.gif

Yikes!  Good thing it was just a dream.  I had two last night about labor.  One dream I was in labor and everything was going pretty well but then I woke up.  When I went back to sleep I was at the midwive's office expecting to go into labor (Not sure why I wasn't at home since I'm planning a home birth) but nothing was happening.  They told me to eat this flower and it would help.  It looked like the flowers of a clover plant.  I ate it and was feeling awful but wasn't going into labor.  So I went home and my husband and I got into a huge fight because he was complaining I didn't take out the garbage and I was like "gee maybe its because I'm about to push out your baby any minute!"  Kinda crazy.  Also been having a lot of dreams about old friends from school that I don't talk to anymore.

Oh, Ironmam! So glad it was just a dream, but scary, nonetheless!

Last night, I dreamed that DS and I were at the park playing, and he kept running away from me. I kept running after him, trying to catch him. I was wearing flip flops and a Santa hat?? and they kept coming off, so I just left them off, and kept chasing him. He climbed up onto this huge ant hill thing, and I tried to get to him to stop him, but there was water all around it, and I couldn't get there in time. He started climbing, and then he got thrown off it by something, and flipped into the water. Next thing I know, I'm laying down, playing on the computer and listening to the radio, when I hear on the radio, "bmcneal has been charged with arson, and there is an active warrant for her arrest." and then some stuff about how the flame from a fire I started were too bright, or the smoke was too light, and they were saying there was a tree outside my door on fire, and a light outside my window that supposed to come on if your fire is too big.

Then I dreamed that I was at a baby shower, and it was *way* huge. It was at a big church, and there was something in *every* room, a pony ride, a cake walk, games, meals, everything. I was there for awhile, when it came time for me to visit my sister in the hospital. When I mentioned that to someone, they said, "Oh, follow me, I'll take you." and somehow, we walked from the baby shower at the church to the hospital, where my sister was, with never leaving the building. After I was finished visiting my sister, I walked back to the baby shower, but I had to pass through a room that was empty when I went through the first time, but when I came back through, there was a religious meeting for Mormons going on (as part of the baby shower). I saw one of my friends, (who I'm pretty sure is not a Mormon) wearing a "I'm the best Mormon ever!" badge. I asked him about it, and he said, "Yup! The best Mormon EVER!" then invited me to a different room, where there was one (of the many, many) baby shower cakes, and they had apparently saved me a spot to eat there, but there were also several other "cake rooms" that also had a designated seat for me, and I couldn't decide which room to eat in, so I woke up.

I think this ailment is causing extra weird dreams. orngtongue.gif

I dreamt about my grandfather (died in 2001) the other night. I dreamt I was picking up toys in the living room and when I glanced up he was sitting on my couch. He told me I need to call my daughter's doctor at JHU and set up an appointment right away (I've been meaning to do that). I asked him why and he said, "You just need to get on it." He told me that in about a year my mother was going to need to come live with us and I need to start planning for it. He showed me the house we should buy for when she moves in and he told me not to worry about the money. I asked him about the birth (I'm really nervous about having to birth in the hospital). He told me he couldn't see the future but that I would know the right thing to do when it was time. He told me to pack two bags - one to leave in the car and one to keep at home and he gave me a strange list of things to include in the bags. He told me I need to get in the habit of keeping my phone in my pocket when I'm at home. That really startled me and I looked up to ask him why and he was gone.

I woke up then and had to go to the bathroom. I went out to the livingroom, and I swear I could smell him.

So it's official...I DEFINITELY have weirder/worse dreams/nightmares if I take cal/mag (even separate!!!!) anytime in the evening!!!!

I don't remember the weird dreams with DS, but this time around they have been off the charts.  Usually not terrifying, but always upsetting enough to wake me up.  Last night's featured gun violence (something I do not recall ever dreaming about) and green aliens attacking a little boy.  When I saw the green aliens, I knew I was dreaming, and half expected something funny to happen, but no, more violence.

I did a quick google search on nightmares in pregnancy and found nothing particularly helpful.  I don't think the physiology of dreams is well understood at all.
