Ok i have one i am borrowing from a friend. Now this pregnancy was a vanishing twin pregnancy. Welli have a feeling that it never did vanish but it could be my heart/hopes y/k. Well a few weeks ago i thought we heard 2 hbs on the doppler  besides my own. fast fast one then a slower one then mine which is way slow.

I just got done playing w/ it and found 2 hbs besides me own again. one is fast cloppity clop cloppity clop then the other is a def slower but not as slow as mine!!! {bang head} i am going NUTS NUTS NUTS!!!!!!!!!!

Our ultrasound is next week. and i did sneak one in at almost 15 weeks, but this was from a nurse who isnt trained in ultrasounds and it was quick...we thought we seen 2 but never in the same shot....

i am so anxious and was feeling ok w/ 1 and knowing just 1 but then i listened again...and my heart bout jumped outta my chest when i heart that 2nd one...oih!!!!

So anyone have any ideas, suggestions. thoughts!?

thanks!

Not much, except good luck at your ultrasound and hopefully it is someone trained to do it as they are unlikely to miss them! My twins have been easy to see because they are either side by side or one on top of the other vertically, so from the front it is obvious there are two no problem, we saw them immediately on my first ultrasound and every one since, but my Aunt had surprise twins at birth since her one twin was always hiding directly behind the other, so the heartbeat was masked and the behind twin was hidden on the ultrasound too.

Thank you for responding. I feel so crazy! But i only have 1 week to go. I just cant believe i get my self conviced of just one then i listen and my heart literlly jumps out of my chest when i accidently find another.

Its so crazy . and next week is at an actual ultrasound place and we will be doing measurements so we should be able to find 2 if there are in fact 2. I am measuring big by about 4 weeks ...but its baby #5 so it could be that, but w/ #4 i never measured big and i was 3 months post partum w/ #3 LOL so idk...i feel nuts.

thanks for listening to me ramble...

Thanks...i am not alone ;)

So w/ your twins do they hear 2 seperate beats at checks? I have heard alot of twins beat together, and some beat apart. these def are 2 diff speeds...and i can go back and forth. I am going to feel stupid when its just one LOL

Mine have had noticeably different rates, usually B is in the low 140s, A is in the high 150s. Usually she has a hard time getting them clearly with the doppler because they are usually as close to each other as they can get in two separate sacs smile.gif

How did they diagnose your vanishing twin, Lisathena?

Ultrasound 1 week after she did the 1st ultrasound and seen it "fading" Ultrasound yesterday showed 1 very healthy baby. Guess it is true that w/ baby #5 you get bigger quicker. And w/ it starting out as a twin pregnancy things have been strange!

This is my 4th pregnancy in 4 years, 3 full term, and 1 early m/c and I am def bigger earlier this time. Sorry you didn't get the news you wanted. Did you plan your Irish Twins? I am just wondering because this whole pregnancy I have been craving another back to back pregnancy. My first set of back to back pregnancies, the second pregnancy was so much easier and less sickness than the first pregnancy.

Edited to add: My first 2 babies were 10.5 months apart but the first was stillborn at 38 weeks, so now irish twins for me.

Sometimes you can hear the placenta beat/pulse, and it will be closer to mom's HB but usually a bit faster (but not as fast as baby's heart beat), so could that be what you were hearing? That would be my first guess!
