I saw my OB yesterday for normal 28 week appt, but called the day before due to acute upper respiratory infection/symptoms. I had my scheduled one-hr GTT, an U/S to check placenta one ast time (prior C-section and anterior placenta), and thn usual appt.
The good news:
Placenta perfect
Baby perfect/growing/active (most important)
BP my usual low normal, 98/58
No rotein or ketones in my urine
Temp was 98.8
Oxygen sats were 96%+ (normal)
The bad news:
Positive swab for influenza A (i had chsen not to be vaccinated). Ugh.
Failed GTT (4th pregnancy, including twins once, and have always passed before)
Somewhat anemic
Platelets 108. BIG and SCARY -- see below
I went back today for a full pre-eclampsia/HELLP panel, because I had HELLP with twin pregnancy (32 weeks).
Naturally, am freaking out. Any sage advice? Could this just be viral overload/a very sick body??
