Aspiring Doula in the making!

After having a doula at both my sons births, it has encouraged me to become one as well, I've been searching at all the schools online to get my certification, and finally chose a school! Childbirth International, does anyone have any reviews on that school?

Personally I chose Birth Arts International, but I know a few doulas who are happy with CBI.

I actually never heard about that school!

I have a friend who did CBI, she liked it. I am BAI so I can't give you my experience with CBI. I do like some of their classes and will probably take some in the future. =)

I did MaternityWise a little more than a year ago and it was awesome!
I'm considering becoming a trainer.
What are some things you like about the program you're in?

I did training through Doula Trainings International (DTI) and loved it!   Their 9 month mentorship program (being able to call and talk with your mentor) Is one of the best features!!

I am about to be certified (postpartum) through DTI. They've been amazing. They have trainings in several states and occasionally outside the US. If I ever do birth certification, I'd do it through them, too.

MaternityWise also has a mentoring program, and I agree, it's fantastic to have access to someone whose been the and done that, and can help advise.
When I become a trainer, I will be on the mentoring level as well. I'm so excited!!
I also love that MW is internationally known and recognized so when we do missions trips, my certification isn't questioned and I also know women who've moved because their hubby is in the military and they were able to seamlessly just continue practicing in their new locale. smile.gif
