I just need to vent and cry.

Thankfully Christmas shopping is over.

Last week my husbands truck stops running. It's bad. Gasket, head, something like that. A big one.

Then I find out I need to replace 1-3 motor mounts on the van or it could be bad as well.

We set aside what I thought was enough for parts and had a friend willing to do labor for free.

The friend flaked out on me and the parts are looking to be $100 or more over what I saved. Plus labor now. We just can't afford it. Period.

Which wouldn't be a big deal, except that I need to get my oldest to speech therapy twice a week. So now my husband has to be able to get to work and I have to be able to get my son to speech but we have 0 vehicles.

:(

Is there a local shop that can work a payment plan with you?

I'll have to check but even if so it'll be a month before we can. I'm trying to arrange a ride for my kid to therapy twice a week and hopefully my husband can find a ride to work until we get it figured out.

I can sympathize! My brakes were starting to go out so when my DH took the tires off to do the brakes he discovered that all 4 of my perfectly good looking tires were beyond bald only on the inside! So I went and bought all 4 new tires and that same night my DH gets a speeding ticket. As if that's not bad enough..............both my headlights went out! Thankfully when I got pulled over for it the cop decided to be nice and not give me a ticket for it! As if I chose to be driving down the street with no headlights??!!!???? This all happened last week. When it rains, it pours! gloomy.gif

Okay. I spit my coffee out on that one. I know it's not supposed to be funny. That is some bad luck! I used to have an awful car, and that song "I've got a piece of Sh-t car" was popular on the radio. I used to sing it at the top of my lungs while I rambled along on bald tires with no heat and only 6 of the 8 actually firing. Cha chang, cha chang. cha chang. The thing actually rocked back and forth.

yeah my car is a 2008 and I owe way more than it is worth or I would have traded it in a while ago. My insurance has me in a rental car while my car is in the shop but it's going to cost me a $500 deductible.
