Round Ligament "pain".. :/

I have been having some serious round ligament issues. In the last week I have had to slow WAAAY down (just in time for Christmas) and have been wearing my bellyband almost all the time. If I stand too long/pick up something too heavy/get up the wrong way etc etc I am in a LOT of pain. By the end of the day I can barely walk.. I am waddling around in excruciating pain. This is only my 3rd pregnancy, and I have only gained 20 lbs so far... I've got 6 weeks left.. Please tell me there is some magic cure, I can't spend the next 6 weeks sitting down. :( :(

I've been getting my RL released regularly at my Chiropractic appointments and it has helped tremendously. I usually don't start having issues until it's almost time for another adjustment. I know my Chiro does the Webster technique so maybe you can find someone who specializes in that?

i hear ya I have had it bad and the doc says that it gets worse every pregnancy. I try to drink lots of water and don't hunch over too much. Good luck!

Yes, round ligament pain and I are really well acquainted with one another. So my chiropractor found a spot behind my pelvis that was my actual source of the pain. If hubby holds a hot water bottle there when I lie on my side it helps SO much. Having been on the writhing around in the ER end of ligament pain I finally learned the hard way to respect the pain and take it easy even if resting makes me feel like I'm under house arrest. Chiro helps, the support helps but it's the actual act of getting completely off my feet for at least half the day that has made it manageable. Also, sitting does not take the pressure off for me. I actually need to lie down.

The chiropractor and being really careful how i move - those are the 2 things that help me, i don't do well with resting or getting off my feet..

yeah it is pretty impossible for me to rest or lay down.. :/ because that means I have 2 crazy boys jumping on top of me (literally).. *sigh*... I think I really overdid it one day last week, and it took me almost a week to recover but I seem to be able to manage the pain now just by wearing the bellyband and not overdoing it. I have to take rests throughout the day still though

thanks for the tip on the bellyband.  I am having pretty bad RL pain (third child also) this time around too.  Stairs are the worst.

The belly band is the only thing that has really helped but now I have a pinched nerve in my hip from a previous injury so...I'm falling apart! I am waiting for a chiro appointment now and know that will make a huge difference.

The other big thing is to make sure that if you are moving in a way that hurts (i.e taking on/off your shoes, getting up from a seated or laying down position) to just stop and ask for help.  I finally started feeling an improvement once I recognized the pain as an injury instead of a natural part of pregnancy. I stopped just pushing through it and started limiting my movements.
