Back Story:
My dd is 8.5 and she had a case of CP at 7 months of age. She was BF (not a single drop of formula) and around that time I am assuming she was beginning some solids. She caught them from my 9 year old (he was 21 months old at the time) who was exposed to someone who had the CP despite being vaccinated. We suspect this other child caught her CP from her 2 yr old sister who was recently vaccinated for CP and it shed.
Present:
My 3 year old broke out in CP a few days ago. Exactly 2 weeks prior, my dd (mentioned above) had this weird, itchy rash on her left chest and left shoulder blade. The rash pattern on the front and back almost exactly mirrored each other. Other than the rash being itchy, she had no pain and we even went to a Christmas party that day and then she played in an indoor soccer game. A few days before she had a mild cold.
The weekend she mentioned having itchy bumps to me, they had already popped and were scabbing and I thought it was some sort of weird bug bites she caught somewhere. She had two sleepovers in a row at two different houses so I thought maybe fleas but the people she was with are super clean, no fleas, etc.
Now that my 3 yr old has CP, it finally clicked that maybe she had Shingles.
I think it is just so weird that she could have had Shingles, and now I am paranoid there be some underlying reason that made the virus re-appear.
Has anyone BTDT?
