I'm curious about what other people got their preteens/teens for Christmas this year.
My 12yo ds asked for Legos, iTunes gift cards and socks (yup, socks).

My oldest (21) is getting money towards a new laptop that he needs (yes, he really does), and my youngest (18) is getting a camera.
My 12 yr old is getting Legos, art supplies, and DVD's.
I want you to know that good quality art supplies now out cost the Legos.
However art supplies do go on sale, Legos generally do not.
We're just doing stocking this year but 11 yo ds's was a nice one. He said it was the best Christmas ever until I reminded him of the super awesome present (a laptop) he got last year:-)
His stocking had a Minecraft t-shirt, a sheet of Minecraft block magnets, a phantom keystroker (a gag gadget you plug into someone's computer and it types random messages like "I can see you"), weird putty, a squeezy ball thing, a mini screwdriver set (a freebie from some company), a mini puppy calendar, lipbalm, pez, astronaut ice cream, and chocolate coins.
ETA: Just remembered, we also bought him a few computer games from his Steam wishlist. We bought them a few days ago since they were on a limited time sale. One was $15, and two were $5 each. Not something to open Christmas morning since the games are on the website, though.
DS 12, from us, got a pair of tickets to a Globe Trotter game, a couple graphic novels, a crepe pan and a recipe book. He got some movies, books, money and some new clothes from various relatives.
DD 15, from us, got a couple books, a graphic novel, a set of nice mechanical pencils and an outfit from her favorite store. From family she got more clothing, money and a couple kindle books.
Late answer, but in case you want ideas for next year:
DS19 - a watch (dressy, leather band, simple face with roman numerals), a jacket (classic Harrington), How Music Works by David Byrne (a book about the music business - DS plays in a couple of bands and they have been recording and selling independently)
DD16 - supplies for an overseas trip next year where she will be spending time in the bush (First Aid kit, Emergency kit, crank flashlight, some camping/hiking stuff), clothes (hoodie, knit hat and infinity wrap), Daisy by Marc Jacobs (a set with eau de toilette, body lotion and shower gel), Grimm's Fairy Tales - the new Philip Pullman version.
