it's like a bag of rabbits in there

Anyone else getting a bit tired of the wiggles and kicks???  I'm sure DD wasn't like this, ever.  I feel touched-out from the inside, LOL.  This baby is hardly ever quiet lately.  I did get a 4-hour stretch of sleep last night that was really nice, but generally as soon as I move at night he/she is all excited and starts bouncing around.  And during the day it's really distracting, and I'm almost self-conscious that other people can see my belly jumping and distorting and it creeps them out.  Hell, it creeps ME out and it's my baby!!!  Yesterday baby got hiccups for the first time and that was either exciting or disturbing for it because on top of the rhythmic hiccupping, there was a lot more squirming and moving around.

This will stop when it gets bigger, right?  I honestly do not remember this phase with DD - or else I was so bored at work that it was entertaining, not distracting.  I mean, I'm glad it's not painful or anything (except for the odd bladder stomp which is highly unpleasant) but still - it would be nice to have a break from it now and then.

Actually, my baby is fairly quiet in there... She seems very relaxed and low-key.... I feel like she moves a lot less than the other two kids... either that, or I am just too busy to notice as often!

When she does change position, she is quite strong and it can get uncomfortable, but for the most part, she is fairly tame.  My older kids love to feel her kicking, but she doesn't "perform" for them very often!

As this will probably be our last baby, I am still very much enjoying the movement... especially since I didn't get that with my last two pregnancies (I had two miscarriages prior to this baby).  It is such a reassuring thing to feel her wiggle in there-- sometimes it just makes me start laughing because it makes me so happy!

I hope your baby can give you a break every now and then, though!  I can definitely see how it would be horribly distracting if it was all the time!

This baby feels far more active than my other two, and likes to kick it up a notch during awkward times (in the middle of DTD, for instance. - TMI - sorry)

I don't mind on one hand, bc, like Chapsie, it's my last baby, and I find the movement reassuring, but it is a bit annoying at times.*ahem* see above.

Okay mine's not trying to escape yet.  In another - what? two months? if it tries I'll give it my blessing.  But maybe not via my butt.

Bag of Rabbits, haha! Love that visual.

This babe's movements are different then DD's. With DD, I loved feeling her move. My favorite thing to do was take a bath, rub her and have her respond.

Her movements were more like rolls.

This guys movements hurt. When I say hurt, I am not on the verge of tears, but it's uncomfortable and makes me jump at times. Other times, I am gently coaxing him into another position and asking him to please move off of one body part or another. Just last night, while laying on the coach, I jumped from a kick to the ribs. A few hours later in bed, I was asking him to calm down. This morning, I was doing inversions, because what he was doing to my lower regions was getting hard to bear and I wanted him to move up some.

Even with all that, I love feeling him move, because I know that he is doing well in there. Can't say I won't be pleased if he decides to come out earlier than DD though :)

I used that expression, "bag of rabbits" with my MW yesterday and she got a real laugh!
I agree thay it is a reassuring feeling , though!

This made me giggle. My little Maddie definitely moves more then Delilah she likes to punch or kick me in what feels like my cervix, it stops me dead in my tracks almost every time. I was at work and I was speaking to co-workers when all eyes went to the belly. She had done a complete flip, circle, kick thing......definitely creeped some people out. LOL

Perfect way to describe it!! I was laughing so hard when I read this that DS3 thought there was something wrong with me! Haha!!

My LO is super active, I feel her moving all day every day. It is reassuring, and it does make me feel like she must be doing really well, but yeesh! Can I have a break already?

Friday night DP and I were playing games with my parents, and she started going bananas in there! I lifted my shirt up and everyone was all "whoa!!" and "did you see that!?" because it was, just like spughy said, a bag of rabbits in there!!

I am thankful that she seems to settle down when I go to bed, and she hasn't woken me up yet. I say that carefully since it could change at any moment...  She doesn't hurt me, like DS3 did. He would kick me in the lungs and make me loose my breath, and would push so hard into my rib cage that it hurt. So it's not too bad, but wow is she a mover and a shaker. I don't remember any of my boys being this active. Although it's been 8, 12 and 20 years since I felt them from the inside, so I could've just blocked it out, lol!

Being that this is most likely my last (although DP is praying and begging for one more), I am cherishing every movement. I even started a blog on tumblr to write about all these things I know I will soon forget, I am definitely enjoying every ebb and flow with this pregnancy.

It's strange but I feel like this one is very quiet and still. He moves every day, but not much, just a little at a time and usually after I "wake" him by rolling over or eating something or intentionally jiggling my belly. I don't know how to feel about it but it kind of makes me nervous, like something might be wrong.

writermama - your placenta might just be positioned in a way so that you don't feel him.  As long as he IS moving I don't think you need to worry.  A friend of mine had that with her first baby - she barely felt her at all.  Now she's nearly 2 and climbing on everything she's not supposed to - perfectly normal smile.gif

Spughy, I will keep that possibility in mind. I am going to start keeping mental tabs on how often I feel movement just to reassure myself. He certainly moves--- just not all the time or very vigorously, so perhaps I am simply adjusting to his personality. DS2 was a mover and shaker.

Writer mama, my baby is also not very active like my other two kids were (I've had anterior placentas with all three). As long as the movement is consistent for him (not a lot less than usual) then he is ok!

DS was pretty calm but now he is everywhere doing everything. I remember it was pretty rare I'd feel an elbow or foot poking me. This one.. the hilarious descriptions above say it better than I could put it. Maybe not via my butt, but it certainly feels like she's trying to make a break for it.

I have definitely been getting more and more movement, but I'm still mostly just enjoying it! Though it *is* getting strong enough on occasion at night that I have to wait for it to settle down before I can sleep. And if I roll over while it's still active, I can definitely feel it adjusting! I am fascinated by being able to see it from the outside, and every once in a while the baby kicks so strongly that I'm impressed with how strong the uterus must be, since the baby's not kicking right through it!

My movements are still okay, too.  A few times I've felt like they were trying to escape straight down through the cervix and that wasn't comfortable, but everything else is just nice little moves that make me smile.  The ones I like the best are when [I think] they roll over.  It feels like my whole uterus gets turned upside down.  And so far, no rib pokes.

Ha, such great descriptions gals! My little guy is far more active than I remember DS being. There's almost always a foot or a bum making an extra peak on my mountainous belly and I often gasp or cry out with the more vigorous movements, alarming DH though they are more unusual/uncomfortable than painful. The rolls are still fun but I don't enjoy kicks/punches to my nether regions. The jabs can be so low that I worry about a limb poking out of me smile.gif

Baby still quietens down or 'hides' when anyone but DH lays their hand over an active spot. Although more active, I feel this child is way more of a sensitive soul than my first......I wonder how accurate that sense of personality will be? I had no inclination whatsoever with DS but this pregnancy has been such a rollercoaster ride that I believe it's related to the individual baby. Anybody have gut feelings regarding their baby's personality that proved spot-on?

None of my babies like to "perform" it's funny that way. Though this one kicks like mad when I snuggle with the other two - they don't seem to notice!

I will tell you - bag of rabbits + tummy bug = very unsettling. just saying.
