Cravings? - Page 2

I had a lot of aversions in my first trimester. I have gone through quite a few cravings. I always get cravings for red meat but can't stand to smell it being cooked. yuck! The last few days it has been pizza. But specifically Pizza Hut pizza, no other kind sounds good. Maybe it is the extra greasiness? haha. Also, I ended up making a cake from a box mix yesterday just because the picture on the box looked so good. It is pink with pink frosting that came with sprinkles. I'm having a girl so maybe she has a preference for pink already?!

The one thing that is strange to me is that I usually can drink RRLT at anytime through my pregnancy and even when not pregnant and it tastes good but this pregnancy tea just turns my stomach. I don't get it. I feel like I should be really starting up with it but I have a hard time even drinking one cup.

For me consistently it's been fruit. Any kind of fruit but mainly cantaloupe, oranges, grapefruit, mango. Other than that the cravings change! Last week it was guacamole/avocados.

Crazy cravings! dizzy.gif

Also... water. Been drinking so much water! Room temperature, no ice.

Ha!  Gosh, your body had you guessing there.

I am the same, NO ICE in my water or beverages ever since I got pregnant with my son in 2009.  I just can't stand it anymore.

Have you tried combining the RRLT with other flavors?  Honey or lemon?  Or getting some loose leaf tea and blending it with mint?  I've started drinking 2 cups/day and MW's suggestion and will amp up to 3 cups/day at 30 weeks and then 4 cups/day at 36 weeks.  It's definitely not my favorite, it's like dirty dish water.  And I LOVE tea.

What is rrlt and what are the benefits? Ok all I want right now is chocolate and or cocoa pops.. I have neither!! I never knew an urge Fo something could be this strong.. It's genuinely consuming my mind!!!

With my son, Maddox, I craved jalapeños on EVERYTHING! It's funny, because now he eats really spicy foods. (Indian food, Mexican food, even hot sauce on all kinds of food!) which is kind of uncommon for most kids his age. (He just turned 5.)

With this little guy, I've been eating a ton of fruit and craving sweets all the time! Nothing in particular, but in a moment of weakness I told my husband to buy me Cookie Crisp cereal the other day! That is definitely not something I'd normally buy, much less eat! :/

It's Red Raspberry Leaf Tea. Red Raspberry Leaf (I drink it in tea throughout pregnancy, then start taking it in capsule form as well in the third trimester) helps tone and strengthen your uterus.

oo that mite be a good idea then.. thankyou :)

Mmm, RRL tea is yummy, but not everyone likes it smile.gif If you do decide to go for it, just get a big bunch of it loose off amazon or a herb shop, it's so much cheaper.

Eating a ton of prunes. Just started on the prune juice. What's my hiney gonna do when I burn out on this? Maybe applesauce will help a bit. I have some left from first trimester brat diet. Wish I could get some good cantaloupe. That's the downside of growing up on a produce farm. Can't stand the winter grocery store versions of my food. Gotta try the rrlt. I got some then somehow shifted back to my coffee habit, in much milder decaf form. At least it's a hiney helper.

FarmerMomma, I struggled with constipation early on -- it was awful! I started with prunes but didn't like the taste enough to consme them every day. For about two months now I've been taking a magnesium citrate drink before bed and it makes all the difference. It's a powder that you mix with water and has a subtle relaxing effect that helps me sleep as well as helping move things along come morning. I also drink a cup of rrlt in the AM as well. Natural Calm is the brand you can find in health food stores. I buy the knock off Vitacost brand on line for 1/2 price though -- they call theirs Natural Tranquility.

Kristen, found out I'm also having a boy.

I desperately want skittles.  I've been doing pretty well eating fruit as a snack but we're out.  Skittles count, right?  Clearly I'm experiencing a rainbow deficency.

So I went to get skittles from the vending machine with a buck in my hand and find they charge $1.25.  Oh well, it wasn't a completely wasted trip...standing up made me realize I had to pee.  I wasn't actually hungry, I just wanted them.  Course now that I'm back at my desk sans skittles I'm starting to get hungry.

Anyone else experiencing a personal crisis when it comes to ordering girl scout cookies?  I adore tagalongs, samoas, and thin mints.  I have a coworker who has now stopped by twice to see if I want to order.  But, I have my GD test on Valentine's day (not expecting there to be anything wrong) and the cookies won't be here until then so if I do fail then I'll have all these wonderful cookies and not be able to eat them!  Plus they're super expensive and we're trying to save money and being all pregnant I could probably polish off a case of each within about a week.  Not exactly the most responsible choice when trying to be good calorie or money wise.  Must remain strong.  Do not order cookies.

And while I'm at it I should probably bring those two bags of dove chocolates into work and let the office next door eat them.

Darn 20 lb weight gain (although I should add my doctor isn't even remotely concerned and I'm still small, you can barely tell I'm pregnant.  I have no idea where my body is hiding all that weight.)

the docs all say to eat colorful foods, right? sounds like you are on the right track! sorry the vending machine didn't cooperate.

I have a similar rainbow deficiency and want to eat M+Ms. Or any chocolate. I don't think it is a pregnancy craving, just the aftermath of having gotten a lot of chocolate for Christmas (and still having a lot of it to eat!)

Damn vendin machines and there extortionate attempt at ripping off pregnant women wink1.gif

Kimble-I thought that at first but then I started dreaming about chocolate and not being able to concentrate on anything because chocolate was calling.. I called for a takeaway in the middle of he night just to get chocolate ice cream as I'd held of 3 days and just couldn't handle it any more.. Perhaps it's a calcium thing?
