co-sleeping with older siblings...

so we co-sleep and we plan on bringing in the new babe with us. the problem is sometimes our LO has us on the edge of the bed...how do you mamas who have co-slept with multiple children worked it? we have a cali king. i've tried putting our LO to sleep in his bed, which i am absolutely open to at this point, but he still nurses and wakes up several times at night...so,it's just easiest if he's still in our bed.

i'm thinking of getting a bed rail and keeping current LO in the middle and put the babe between me and rail...

what have you done? has it worked out well? i am honestly not sure how our LO will sleep with a babe waking up in the night. if the crying will wake him or if he'll be able to sleep... ? anybody have a bed rail? are you happy with it? we have a pillowtop so i'm thinking i need to find a super tall bed rail... maybe i'll start out the first month or so alone in bed with just the babe--in another bed...just until we can do everything in the dark...

hmm...thoughts.

Last time, we moved the older kiddo from the middle to the other side of dad. It was a gradual thing and we did it several months before baby was born so it didn't feel like he was being ousted because of baby. He has since transitioned to sharing a bed with big brother (although frequently comes in our bed sometime during the night). We likely will do the same thing this time. Oh, forgot to mention that we put a bed rail up on Dad's side. It worked well for us.
