Mama Cloth with PUL-PUL "break down" not working......

Hi!

I started using mama cloth about a year ago...I have noticed that my cloth pads (that are well loved) that contain PUL are now leaking. :(

Sometimes a pad with PUL will leak around seams etc...but now the pads are just leaking clean thru!!!

HELP!!! Is this normal with PUL? does it lose its 'super power' after a while???

BUMMED!

Awesome that you made the switch to cloth pads! joy.gif

I personally don't have a lot of experience with PUL (We don't use PUL in GladRags, and I haven't really had any leaking issues with my pads) but the consensus seems to be that when PUL gets a detergent build-up, it will become less absorbent, so you'll need to strip it like cloth diapers.

Here's some info on why cloth diapers with PUL may start leaking, and some info on how to strip cloth diapers: http://www.mygreennappy.org/2011/02/insights-into-leaking-pul-nappies/

Hope that helps!

Thank you!

I don't have many with PUL and I also prefer to not have it...but I did include it on the ones I made myself....so the "thrifty" side of me lol.gifhates to just give up on them when they aren't horribly old.

I totally get it :) Hopefully you'll be able to strip them and get the PUL working again!

aawww, you are so sweet... I did trim the stem off...I noticed on some other threads, other mamas did the same thing...hoping this should help with the "pinching" feeling.

I am thinking about ordering the sea sponges for my 17 yo daughter... I had purchased a  cup for her..but she was a little freaked out and overwhelmed with it.... I just noticed the sea sponges..... I'm intrigued.
