How long after stopping contraception

Curious to hear how long after you stopped taking oral contraceptives did your body return to normal? Hoping for A BFP in February.

Some women get pregnant the first month off BCP, some take longer to adjust.

I have heard of getting a BFP right away.... not the case with me, but I had a friend (on BCP for 10+ years) who got pregnant the first month.  It took me 8 months to get a period and then a while longer to catch the egg.  I love the book 'taking charge of your fertility' just as a way to get to know fertility signs.

I stopped oral contraceptive in late February, early March, pregnant in April. everyone is different.

My first kiddo took 16 months after stopping... My current pregnancy, I got pregnant the first cycle after stopping.

I stopped an oral contraception in mid October. I am back to a normal cycle now, and hoping for a bfp in Feb. Good luck!

How long... that depends on the type of contraception you were using. If you were on an estrogen-based birth control pill (low dose), most OBGYNs recommend waiting at least 6 months to a year, to give you body the chance to detox the excess estrogen. Too much estrogen (relative to the other types of estrogen and progesterone) can lead to birth defects. Pesticides and plasticizers trigger birth defects in a similar way as birth control pills... they are all interfere with estrogen receptors.[Edited my moderator to remove promotional content]
