New Years Eve?

Thread Starter

What are you all doing for New Years Eve? I'm 24 and my bf is 25 so this is going to be the first year that we don't do something as crazy as we normally would. I feel bad for my bf because I feel like he wants to go out and drink a lot but I really just want to stay in and enjoy each other's company or go to a small get together at someone's house... What are some of you doing that night?

We are probably going to go to a friend's house for NYE.  We went last year, and they have a couple of kids that were there.  I think we were the only guests who brought our kid though.  We stayed until around 10 or so, then came home (DS had just turned 1).  Now DS is two, but he still won't go to sleep for anyone except me (not even DH)...so I'm planning on just taking him a long this time as well.  We would leave way before things got rowdy.  DS could play with the other boys until he got too sleepy then I will take off. DH may stay later if he can get a ride home with a friend.  DH has never been very "into" new years eve, although we always went to a party in previous years (except right after DS was born).  I grew up where NYE and any other excuse fathomable would be cause for a huge party, and if people could swing it, the parties would be themed and we would all dress up in costumes, lol! Now that I'm pregnant with a toddler, I'm not too concerned about what we do.  I'm a little nervous that it's going to be akward if I bring DS to the party....I guess I will double check that the other boys will be there!

Going to a concert at Madison Square Garden. But sitting in a luxury box (courtesy of my friend who gets it through his work) so I'll have the cushiness of a private bathroom (yay no bathroom lines), a good amount of space, and no one smoking cigarettes directly next to me. I won't be able to rage it up the way I'd normally like to, given I'm pregnant, but it is what it is shrug.gifsmile.gif

My husband will be there all the nights up until NYE!  Side note: my mom got him/the baby this for Christmas:

I'm not a Phish fan, so he'll be coming home to watch me be sober at our friends' party for NYE.

...any other first-timers feeling bummed about not being able to partake in the bubbly?

Cute onesie!! Good man you've got there to come home to be with you on NYE! And good of you to "let" him go the first three nights. I have to say, I'm having a hard time accepting 1.not going to all 4 nights (I'm going to two and essentially decided I'd only go nights our friends could get the box) and 2.that I can't eat any "special" treats or anything this year. Oh well :) So I'm going tomorrow night and then NYE. We live a subway ride away so luckily I can pick and choose going random nights.

I might have a few sips of wine on NYE, we'll see.

Yeah, I actually went with him to see them back in September in CO, which was right after we found out I was pregnant, so I had to be extra good.  It wasn't easy seeing them sober!  I hope you have fun anyway, though!

I'll probably be partaking in a sip or few as well, truth be told.
