Antibiotic Alternatives

Hi all,

I'm 14 weeks and due in June. I have been sick this past week with congested lungs and mild fever (99.5 in the evenings). The doctor diagnosed bronchitis and gave me a mild antibiotic. After a week of sickness that i just cant shake, I feel okay now but I want to get rid of the mild fever and really beat this. I did take an antibiotic at 8 weeks for a UTI, so I'd prefer to avoid another if possible, especially so soon after the first one.

I have been resting, drinking fluids, ingesting a veggie/fruit smoothie each morning, eating a raw garlic clove per day (only two days total to be honest), eating probiotic yogurt.

Any advice for me? Thank you!

If you can get some essential oils or there are some aromatic chest  rubs( badger has a blend) at a health food store, and rub in on you feet at night and on your chest. I use Young Living oils RC and Raven. I have had the same think for a week not.  I also like to make a tea using hot water then add grated ginger ( about 1-2 inches) and raw honey.   I also gargle and swallow raw apple cider vinegar.

I second avoid sugars! I've been meaning to try this: The Mother of All Herbal Remedies- http://www.progressivepioneer.com/progressive-pioneer/2011/11/the-mother-of-all-herbal-remedies.html#

Looks pretty powerful to me! I had friends that used to shoot a glass of water full of cayenne and they swore by it. This seems similar. Feel better!

My room mate and I ( both pregnant) got the flu last week... it was horrible! We did a lot of elderberry tincture, lemon water, broth with LOTS of raw garlic (if you can take it!) and hot honey lemon ginger drink. I know the flu isn't a bacterial infection but all of those things above are antibiotics or thought to aid in healing the body.
