I'm a slacker as I started this thread but didn't update when I finally did feel baby. I technically knew in my head I couldn't not feel the baby forever but it was reassuring when I did. Not a little flutter either, I was laying in bed w/ my hand on the belly & got a solid shove that (seemed to) lifted my hand up an eighth of an inch or so. Baby won't cooperate when Husband tries to feel but he's used to that.

16 weeks for me, a little earlier if you count the first "gassy flutters" that you don't want to admit to or fear people telling you it's just gas.

After I'd feel a little 'flutter'  then  I'd wait a moment or two and if there was no...arrhem..breaking of wind...then I knew it was baby.redface.gif    Sorry if TMI, just keepin' it real, my kiddos loved that story. rolleyes.gif

This morning (just shy of 18weeks) my husband felt kicks with his hand and that made us both tear up. Such a special moment no matter how many times we've felt it in the past.love.gif

I started feeling tiny tickles around 12wks, but that is a normal for me.  This is baby 5. And 3 and 4 were also felt that early.

I'm 20 weeks today and I've yet to feel anything  =(

I'm 18+ weeks now and have been feeling pretty good amount of movement for several weeks now.  I like being able to feel the baby several times every day.  It lets me remember that I'm actually pregnant and not just fat and lazy!

Yes, that was one of my "tests" as well!

I've been feeling things for a couple of weeks, but inconsistently, and I can't prompt movement by pushing on either side of my belly yet. I know I'm still early (16w) but I wish I were feeling more, I get too freaked out wondering if things are still ok.

Me too!  I'm in this same boat ...

I am now having obvious movements throughout every day. It's so reassuring!

I will be 17 weeks tomorrow with baby #4 and have yet to feel anything.  greensad.gif  However, I have been doing some reading and saw that if your ab muscles are tighter (through exercise, being a first baby, hereditary, etc.) you may not feel kicks as early than if your muscles are loser--which actually does not make sense to me but that's what I read.  I would think if your muscles were tighter then you would feel little movements more.  My first 3 babies were very close together and so my abs were loser and I am pretty sure I felt movement much earlier with my 2nd and 3rd baby than with my 1st and this one.  And this one is 10 years after our youngest one and I am in much better shape than I ever was 10 years ago.  So maybe that is why I haven't felt anything?  I sure wish I would though.  It's getting frustrating as I definitely look pregnant so everyone keeps asking me if baby kicking yet and I have to say no.

18 weeks today and my squirmy snake feeling has transformed into hard pokes... I feel like someone is jabbing me with their finger from the inside... especially when the baby seems to be lower in the uterus near my pelvic bone. I hadn't felt anything strong like that until I was at the Tibetian Buddhist center at their weekly chanting / meditation night and during the silent meditation the baby starting poking up a storm and I was trying hard not to giggle amidst the silence. It was pretty funny. It's taking some getting used to as this is my first and the pokes are so hard and alien to me.

18.1 today and still nothing! What baffles me is how much I felt between weeks 12-14 and now nothing? Not a tiny flutter, no random jabs - nothing! I know she's good in there, and moving away (based on doppler checks). It's a bummer, as that's my favorite part of pregnancy and even with my second pregnancy (almost 8 years ago now!), I was feeling substantial movements at this point.

Oh well...nothing I can do about it! Eventually, I'll feel something, right? And my husband will someday be able to feel her in there, too? Gosh, I hope so! I'm thinner than ever, too...no chub in the way, but NOTHING is going on. Maybe she's just super calm? But no...you can hear her moving like crazy on the doppler. Hmmm....

I did that too...felt distinct flutters around week 14 - 16, then nothing much.  Now I'm exactly 19 weeks and this kid has started jabbing me at random intervals.  The only thing is that it seems completely random, there is no rhyme or reason to them.  Although, I believe I read somewhere that the baby has their own circadian rhythms.

This little bean is active when I am resting/sitting - they get more oxygen at those times (I've heard) -I think that THAT is the real reason they have day/night confusion! twins.gif

Anyway, I said it before, and I am still tickled by how much more this baby moves than DS did.  DS moves now just like he did in the womb, so I think that i have a little firecracker here.  Crossing my fingers for a firecracker that sleeps good! orngtongue.gif  Or at least better than DS did.

I'm 17 weeks, 4 days and I haven't felt movement yet- but looking forward to when I do!joy.gif

Baby #1 I started feeling at 16 weeks.  Baby #2 started just before 10 (confirmed by me feeling it while watching him on ultrasound :-) ).  This baby also started just before 10, not a lot and not all day or anything, but just enough and in the right location for me to know what it was.  Got more frequent and stronger as the weeks passed and now at 17 weeks, just a few days ago I was laying in bed and felt a few good kicks, put my hand down by my pelvic bone and felt one good enough that I grabbed DH's hand, sure enough he felt a couple good kicks and squiggles too.  :-)  I started off this pregnancy at my lowest starting weight so far, I'm thinking that's part of why he was able to feel it earlier than in my other pregnancies.

thought I would revive this thread with an update

For the past 1.5 - 2 weeks the movements have been so strong that my husband can feel them externally fairly often... as can I. The midwife told us last week that my placenta is attached at the rear as opposed to the front of the uterus and therefor there is less lining between the baby and the outside world, hence feeling it earlier than what people would usually expect. kinda cool! The kicking is getting really strong and I've jumped a few times with how strong it can get.

I've had a few good kicks-- a couple that have been strong enough to feel with my hand, or for my husband to feel, too. Very, very exciting. I find myself almost searching for more kicks-- putting my hand on my belly and hoping for them.... but while I can feel some wiggling here and there throughout the day, the hand-feeling kicks are somewhat rare.

Probably the only time in my life when someone will kick me and I will 1) love them more for it and 2) long for more. ;)

19 weeks and some change.

That's exciting Sweet Huck

the stronger kicks will come soon enough! I would say that now MOST of the movement I feel could be felt on the outside while the 'undetectable' wriggling movements are becoming the minority.

I'm 19 weeks 1 day, and thought that I felt some flutters a few times this week. I haven't felt any movement consistently. I haven't felt much movement for the past few days, and of course I worry about it, but everything I'm reading says that is normal, that kick counts or movement monitoring isn't done until 28 weeks.
