starting to feel those 'gassy' feelings like movement « Back to Group Discussions

I am between 9 and 10 weeks with my third pregnancy and I am hopeful that I am feeling some baby fluttering.  I know that with it this early it can be gas movement, but right now I am feeling close to baby by thinking that it could be him/her.  Right now I am not expelling gas during these times, and it seems like a familiar feeling.  I certainly look forward to more certainty in the next weeks.

I'm getting it too - best way I describe it is almost like gentle bubbles popping :)  It's not intestinal though, it's clearly uterine location!

Aww. I'm 13.5 weeks with my third baby and nothing yet. I didn't feel my second babies flutters until just before the anatomy scan because I had anterior placenta. I am hoping for a normal positioned placenta this time and hopefully I feel real flutters soon too

i'm 13.5 weeks and 2nd pregnancy. i've definitely had some internal flutterings that reminded me of movement. :) i like when it gets to be really big though, where we can feel it often...so i'm looking forward to feeling that! in the meantime--i like to think about babe when i feel them and send love and imagine what's going on in there :) yes i'm sappy. :)

also a couple of weeks ago i swear i felt baby hitting the cervix feeling. it was really weird as i know the babe was still so small. but, it felt just like it.

I've been feeling something like tiny baby movements sometimes when I'm resting. I'm almost 13 weeks. I can't be sure, but it's still fun to think about. :)

I normally don't feel for sure movement til around 20 weeks.

I've been feeling that little bubbly feeling as well. Usually when I'm laying on my back and my bladder is full. Excited for bigger more definite movement!

I felt that last night (12 weeks). It felt so big it stopped me in my tracks and all I could think was 'whaaaat was THAT? Couldn't have been the BABY, already???'

Maybe this one is a boy. My daughter never really kicked me around, but my son? Whew nelly, I thought he was trying to make his own exit, like in some Greek myth.

I'll be 14 weeks on Friday and have though I've felt little uterine flutters too, beginning about a week ago.

I'm 10weeks and a bit and I haven't felt anything beyond gas. I'm a pretty gaseous person to begin with, though. Should I be worried? it seems like a lot of you are feeling movement.

14 weeks and I have felt some definite movements a couple times over the past week. This is the earliest I have ever felt any, but as this is number 4, I think it is because I know what to "feel" for.

My update:

I had a brief ultrasound today, and the baby was really active.  I tried to think about if I could feel the baby moving and it seemed like I was wishing to feel the movement so bad and only thought I could feel it.   I think that if I am actually feeling the baby move, it is only if the movement is just right and I am laying down.  I am certainly not able to feel all that swishing, swirling, punching and kicking that this little bean is maneuvering.

I think I felt it a couple of days ago, but I am not sure. I was sick and really gassy, but it felt different somehow, like a little vibration. I think it was the baby, but I have not felt it since. So maybe I was wrong and it was not the baby.

Rainbownurse, I would not worry at all about not feeling any movement at 10 weeks. I never felt any of my babies that early.  Actually I don't know anyone in real life that has felt the baby move at 10 weeks either. It is possibly oviously but not the norm as the fetus is super tiny at that age. The little legs and arms are just so so incredibly small. I am 14 weeks today and still don't feel anything that I recognise for sure as flutters yet though I am hoping I do soon :)

I agree with this! 

I felt movement at 19, 15 and 21 weeks in my last 3.  At 13 weeks now, I *might* be feeling some little flutters but I can't be sure!  I'm not super in tune with my body so I can't distinguish all those things.

With my last few I've felt the occasional flutter around 11w.  I always tell my Dr that and they ALWAYS tell me that I'm not really feeling baby.  What do I know though, this is ONLY the 8th time I've been 14w pregnant LOL.  Also with DD that's 2 now, the Dr was getting a doppler reading on her at 14w2d and was telling me NO WAY could I be feeling baby move that early .. then all of a sudden baby kicked the doppler and Dr FELT baby from the outside.  She freaked out and stepped back explaining she had never felt a baby from the outside that early EVER.  I really think a lot of factors come into play.  Where the placenta is, how many times you've been pregnant (and know what you're feeling), where baby is positioned, and how you're positioned.

11w 4d here and nothing yet. I didn't feel DD until almost 18 w though so I'm not worried. I agree that so many factors affect being able to pick things up that I wouldn't worry at all about not feeling it until well into the second trimester.

Wrenmoon, my DD was a prizefighter in there and had me convinced she was a boy. We didn't find out the gender but I thought there's no way that's a little girl making me yelp lol. So much for gender stereotypes. She's a very active, physical kiddo and DH can't wait until he can try her in karate. For now she loves to run around and dance in a circle. My strollers are practically in mint condition because once she started walking, their days were numbered.
