I am 25.5 weeks and my appetite has kicked in something fierce.  I am also beat down tired the past few days.  I don't know if its owed to the time change for DST or if its owed to a baby growth spurt.  Either way, now I am up 13 lbs.

My midwife told me she isn't concerned about my weight gain. She suspects I'm right that my body just likes to get to a certain weight and she said I look healthier than ever and my blood pressure has lowered some. I haven't had high blood pressure with this pregnancy, but it shows that my exercise is doing something. I do have a tendency for borderline high blood pressure a the end of pregnancy, so if exercise keeps that away this time, that would be perfect. And I really suspect it will.

I think I'm doing pretty well in this department, finally. After little/no weight gain in the first 20 weeks or so, I've definitely hit a growth spurt.  At today's appointment (25+4) I'm up to 177 in shoes, which is around 8 pounds up, or 10-12 up from my lowest point this pregnancy.  My appetite has definitely increased, but unfortunately all I want to eat is carbs.  Getting those green veggies in is a battle for some reason, though I've always been a good eater before this!

Hah!  I am right w/ you veggie!  I was a great eater prior to pregnancy.  I did well again in the 2nd trimester, but now that I am nudging up against the start of the 3rd trimester all I want is crappy carbs again!  Getting greens and veggies in me is a chore ...

Pre-Pregnancy I was 126 lbs/5'3".  I lost 4 lbs in my first trimester from MS and eating really small portions.  I'm now at 29 weeks and up to 143 lbs.  Over the past 3 weeks, my appetite has diminished and I'm actually worried about not gaining enough during the 3rd trimester.  Tyring to make sure what I do eat is healthy enough.....

I've been plateauing with weight, but still hover around the +30 mark at 27 weeks.  My cravings don't coincide with physical hunger.  I CRAVE food even when my tummy doesn't rumble in hunger.  Is that considered 'emotional eating'?  lol.  I suppose that things could be worse....

 I have to say, Kim K looks absolutely TERRIBLE and I don't understand HOW she looks like that.  She was going to the gym daily and now she looks like she does.  I can't knock the "gaining" because I've BTDT but she just does NOT look adorable pregnant even in the least.

I think I'm up 22 lbs at this point from 136 to 158 and I'm hoping it levels off soon because just like every time before, my ass is huge :( the only difference this time is my boobs are like giant mellons from hell.

i am finally hungry!!! and eating!!! i am excited about this because it has taken this long... i am 25 weeks and just started gaining significant weight. I started at 143 (5'8) and am now at 151 for a total of 8 lbs for me. I don't really notice any weight anywhere besides my belly, which honestly doesnt' feel very big in the first place. This LO is super low and transverse so i'm not huge. I am small chested in the first place so went from an A to about a C - which is lovely and I wish they would last.

I wonder if it's just the 25 week growth spurt for our LO's that makes us all suddenly crazy hungry? I am 25.1 and just a few days ago started the 'OMG I'm hungry' stage and now cant seem to ever have enough food. and like so much of us i am really struggling to eat the good green stuff instead of the crappy but oh-so-yummy carbs and sugary crap. My kids just started a dinner point chart (their idea, amazingly) where when they eat at least a good portion of their dinner including all the veggies they get a point on the fridge- i might have to make myself a chart for the fridge too.

I`ve started at 141 lbs and now ( 25w 6d) I weight 154 lbs.

So, 13 lbs gained till now.

I'm right there with you mamas who are finding it challenging to make healthful food choices lately. My sweet tooth has been out of control lately, and I've been trying to satisfy it with "healthy" brownies made with black beans and applesauce, or lactation cookies with flax meal and brewers yeast and rolled oats. But still, its not like I can get away with having these "healthy" goodies every single day.

Ive stayed right at 15 lbs gained for the past couple of weeks. So I'm 27 weeks now and 132 lbs. If I continue at a pound a week I should end up just under 30lbs, which is about right.

Yeah, my sweet tooth has picked up as well.  Although my weight gain has slowed a bit (finally).  At my last check in I was at 166, so up 20-30 pounds (20 from conception, 30 from when I started trying to gain...ish).  If I go a pound a week that will put me at 30-40 pounds, which would be better than last time, and not half bad! Even though I have a bigger sweet tooth my appetite has diminished some.  So I do think there was a growth spurt or something a few weeks back.  It will be neat to see what happens over the next couple of weeks! I'm 30 and 4 now, but my weigh in was at 29 and 5.  Getting close!

I've managed to maintain my weight for the past 2 weeks. I had been gaining 2-3 lbs a week the past few weeks before that. I was already up 31 lbs. I found the suggestion of My Fitness Pal to be a good one. I thought it wouldn't do much, but it kept me accountable for the amount and kind of food I've been eating and it seems to have made the difference. Hopefully, I can limit the gain for the rest of my pregnancy. I haven't been starving myself or anything, just keeping aware of things so I don't accidentally overdo it. I switched back to drinking mostly water with a pregnancy tea or 2 a day allowed. Thank God I no longer have a water aversion.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Daisycoming.  The puzzling thing is that I eat much healthier during pregnancy than I did pre-pregnancy-  although pre-pregnancy I had unhealthy habits such as skipping meals/ using supplements to maintain my weight.  I literally have to watch every crumb that I put in my mouth or else it goes to my ass.  No joke.  I've even eliminated my evening snack and replaced it with just one jumbo orange and I'm still averaging a pound a week.  I'm up 33 lbs at 28 weeks.  However, the only exercise I get is yoga twice a week and the occasional dog walking.  I hate to use it as an excuse, but we've had the coldest spring that I can ever remember, and it makes it hard to go outside to exercise!!  (Not to mention that I can no longer zip my winter coat).  It snowed yesterday!  I just want warm weather so I can get out and walk!!!

OMG, I am so with you!! I hate being cold, hate it.  I get a lot of good exercise in the summer, just because we go outside.  I am DYING to get out there again....but I always chicken out because of the cold.  The sun has been warm the past few days and so the snow is melting quick, so I'll be getting yard work exercise soon.  Hopefully.  If it doesn't snow again. I'm such a wimp.  For now my exercise is taking care of my two year old and having to go up and down the stairs in my house.

I think that the cold is a totally valid excuse for not getting out and being more active! I'm lucky weather-wise here in SoCal, but even when its in the 40s I have a hard time rallying my energy to get out and move. I honestly don't know how you mamas who live in snowy places do it (and completely understand when you don't!)

JNajla: I've started exercising lots more the past month or so. I live in central TX, so it's actually decent out for a walk most days. I used to live in Minnesota and then Montana, so I can totally relate to the too cold thing. What I have done though is pilates twice a week and cardio exercises dealing with my xbox or exercise videos a few times a week. I feel much better since doing that stuff as well.

I just had my 28 week appointment this morning.  I am officially up 17 lbs.  I think you're doing just fine, ulybka312. :)  At my 24 week appointment I was up 10 lbs.  So baby and I definitely had a serious growth spurt the last 4 weeks!

I am 31 weeks tomorrow and have gone from 103 lbs to 117 (that's 14 pounds) only. That's if I weigh myself in the evening. If I weigh in the morning when I'm a bit dehydrated, it's less. My appetite is not very strong but also it would be easier if I ate more processed foods. I am nervous that my baby will have IUGR or something like that, and I try to remember that Japanese women are recommended to gain a minimum of only 18 lbs, which I'm sure I'll do. My belly does seem to be growing, and I have my next midwife appointment tomorrow. I hope all is well for all of us!
