Hi, all!

I'm 14 weeks, 5 days with my first pregnancy (due 9/12).  I'm planning for a natural birth, albeit with a CNM in a hospital (we don't really have any nearby birthing centers and my husband is not on board with home birth).

I work in national account sales, mostly from a home office, but with quite a lot of domestic travel.  We did the math on child care, and my husband will be quitting his job to stay home with the baby after my maternity leave is up.  I'm a little envious, but that's what I get for being the higher earner in the family.  I have pipe dreams of trading off at some point and going back to school for a BSN and MSN (my first undergrad was in sociology, and first pass through grad school was for law), but that will have to wait a few years.

I'm very much interested in cooking, food preservation, gardening, and nutrition.

Looking forward to chatting with you all over the next several months!

Hi onematchfire! Congrats! You're due 2~ weeks before me. My undergrad was in sociology/behavioral science also. My soon-to-be-husband finished his MBA last year but I have no plans for grad school. I work in the technical field and I love what I do so no sense in going back to school. I have a super-flexible work schedule so I work from home whenever I feel like it but I definitely understand the traveling since my husband travels a good amount of time. I usually like coming into the office (see photo below) and my office is totally family-oriented so I'm completely grateful. I haven't decided one what birth plan I'm going with yet. Congrats again and nice to e-meet you!

Hey vc2012! Same here. I'm the breadwinner at home so I don't mind if he takes the lead on the daddy stuff after my maternity leave is done. I love my work and have an amazing view of Downtown San Francisco at Market and 1st Street:

It's kind of hard not to want to come to work. winky.gif
