Stuffing pillows question - help

I am in serious need of help. I would like to buy a chair from ikea and take out the foam and stuff the cover with some green cotton or kapok from a different company. I am not a crafty person at all and I am wondering if this is possible. Is there a trick to stuffing cushions? Any advice u can offer is appreciated. I don't even know where to start. I have the birch one with a natural cover. I would normally say that part of what the foam provides is the structure of the chair. Not the case of this one. I think you could easily fill it with wool felt, roving or the like easily. If you are looking at filling it with something 'loose' I would put it in a bag, then put it in the pad because the chair pads are washable and if you fill it with something loose you would make that signicantly more difficult.

thank you for your quick response.  So, what is felt and roving?  I mean, I know what felt is, but i have just seen it in a long thick sheet like thing.  Would I just fold it to stuff it in? where would i get it?  Joannes?   I am removing the foam b/c of the fire retardants, so I would like to stuff it with something that is non-toxic - like cotton, kapok, wool, but it does not have to be organic, and if I could get somthing that would be good to use that is local that would be even better.  Thanks for the advice so far.

You can get wool felt from Joanne's (yay coupon, it's $$). You could cut multiple layers to the same size as the foam and then sew through all the layers in several spots so it doesn't shift. Roving is fiber before it is spun into yarn.
