OPK is getting darker today. Woot woot! Last month I didn't really get a fade in so I was frustrated thinking it was never coming. But right now it's about 1/2 the darkness of the control (just barely there yesterday) so I'm getting close! I'll test again late tonight when I get back from work. Maybe it'll be pos but I bet it'll be tomorrow. Yay! So exciting.  Weird, though, I just checked and I have hardly any CM. What was there was EWCM but I usually have a ton at this stage. Hope that isn't an issue. Ah, what worries me these days! LOL!

Slightly brownish EWCM today; no AF yet.  Not feeling crampy yet either.  Oh, how I'm trying to hold out some hope...

Thanks for taking a look Katie!! I didn't think it was clear yet either but I thought perhaps if I get a temp spike tomorrow that would indicate I Od today. How many days of rising temps are needed to indicate O has happened? And if it rises, how do I know which day was O? Is it the day temps begin to rise? I am still a little confused. I have SO much EWCM and had lots of sharp left ovary pains during the day today. Pretty sure today is the day. I will try to get in another BD tonight, my DH is getting tired. I'm feeling rather into it myself but I usually have more stamina I'm excited for the long weekend coming up. Anyone have fabulous plans they'd like to share?

Wow it's been super busy here overnight 21 posts since I last checked in! Must be lots of exciting things happening around here!

Sparkle yay! For the positive opk! I have had bilateral ovulation pain before, but what I have noticed is I personally only seem to ovulate from my left side, well it's the only side where i feel significant pains. I do also wonder whether the pain often radiates to the other side?

Akk Hugs! Being in limbo is hard! Interesting that you tend to get BFP's around the 6wk mark. Could you see your dr for a bloodiest?

AFM- CD19 still a heap of stretchy twinges going on. Feeling really positive that we may have caught a special little egg. Waiting for my tests that I ordered online to arrive.... Can't test until they do. * bites nails*
Crazy day again today my aunt has arrived from Australia to check in on my sick grandmother, I don't see her often as she lives overseas so we are off to visit her today which will be wonderful.

Sparkle - You need 3 temps above coverline to confirm ov. Coverline is determined by 6 pre-ov temps. Once you get 3 temps above CL you know you ov'd the day before the spike. Sometimes there's a dip that day, sometimes not. So you work backwards to figure out the day after you get the high temps. That's why temping is best to confirm ov date, not predict it, if that makes sense. 

Forgot about the long weekend! Danielle, Monday is Martin Luther Kind day here. I don't get regular holidays at work but I do have this weekend off and friends of ours are coming into town on Sunday for a few days. They have a 2yo and our kids play so well together. I can't wait to see them! 

So funny that I'm excited to get home from work and pee.  LOL!

Thanks Danielle it was a good day, just busy. I'm a nanny for 4 small boys- a 9 month old, two 2 year olds, and a 1 year old :) They keep me busy lol.

So looking at my chart, and assuming that I get 2 more days of high temps, that would mean that I O'd on the day I had the dip?

Hello everyone I have been lurking for a while and decided to come out of the shadows to ask some questions since all of you seem to have done a lot of research.  I think I should have ovulated around the 10th  but not quite sure. i have been charting cm and just cycle length. I'm not sure though because about five days before I expected to o I got a nasty cold which is still sticking around. I was wondering if anyone knows how likely this is to change when or if I o or if it may not have. I normally have ewcm but did not but I did break down and take meds a couple times could this have just reduced the amount of cm? Because I was not surewhen I would o we have bd 11 times in the last 13 days. I also had a weird symptom today my wrist really hurt earlier today and now my ankle is sore and my wrist feels fine. Couldthis even be a pregnancy symtom?

Hi Wildgreen, do you know when you normally ovulate? It can vary month by month for some people, but the only way to really know is if you've been charting or getting to know your cycle :) I'm not sure if the meds could effect your cm, what did you take? I've heard that mucinex can actually help to increase cm. I'm not sure about the soreness in your wrist and ankle, but I've never heard of that as a symptom of pregnancy :) I hope you get it all figured out soon! Good luck!

Dahlia - I bet if you get 2 more temps that are higher that FF will give you crosshairs. I think you probably ov'd yesterday but the next couple of temps will tell for sure. 

jjh - You will usually get a light test line before they're positive. That's normal since we all usually have some LH hanging around. But it'll get super pos when it's pos. Sounds normal to me. 

Amy - I hear you on the weaning! It was terrible. DH kinda got it and was really supportive but they just can't understand, yk? I still get sad when I think about it. 

Ok that makes me feel better! Ill keep testing into tonight!

Does the mucinex help with more CM or more EW like CM? I've never known! I have a sinus infection that I can feel coming on so double use mucinex woo hoo!

Going to test for O tonight and I am really anxious to see if I actually do O this month! If I do it is BIG news that the vitex is actually working and I am going to be SO happy! I didn't test last month because I had just started the vitex so we shall see! No acne before AF and an actual cycle? I am a very happy girl! Now to watch vampire diaries and then go to bed!

I hope all you U.S ladies enjoy your day off for Martin Luther King day! Friday evening here finally! It's been a long week. Looking forward to resting over the weekend. Have had good and bad news today. My grandmother needs to start hospice care as her cancer is really advanced now and she has asked for no more intervention. But to brighten the sad news my most favourite cousin is going to be a father in August! Which I am absolutely over the moon about.
As for me, I'm just tired, not sleeping very well and having the most vivid dreams! Twinges have slowed down but still feeling positive!

SORRY for the little whinge -Anyone else taking prenatal vitamins? I'm taking iodine and folic acid. But sadly the folic acid makes me feel nauseous :-( and I'm tired, cd20 in the morning and I just want to know if Indeed I am pregnant or not! The waiting is killing me, I'm knitting like mad but its not a big enough distraction :-(

Danielle I know, the TWW is SO hard!! The not knowing drives me batty as well. Hang in there, you're so close! As for prenatals, I have been taking them since just before beginning this TTC adventure. Most of us on here do, from what I gather, and it is recommended to take them as you are TTC. The Folic Acid is actually the most important piece, as having adequate amounts is key to avoiding certain preventable birth defects in early fetal development. Do you take a regular multivitamin? Most have more than enough.

Wildgreen! Ovulation can be affected by stress and illness, both can be cause a delay in your O. And most Over The Counter (OTC) cold/allergy medicines do indeed dry you out, nasal secretions and cervical mucous. Guafenesin, the active ingredient in some OTC cold remedies and most Mucinex brand tablets, works differently. The purpose of it is to loosen and liquify secretions to make them easier to bring up (think lungs, loosens phlegm so you can cough up that goo, and nose, loosens nasal secretions so you can blow that stuffed up nose). The effect is similar for CM, not necessarily making you have more CM but making the CM more liquidy and potentially more conducive to sperm survival. The key with all of this is checking what's in your OTC meds. If you try the Guafenesin for your CM, be sure you take a medicine with ONLY Guafenesin, not a multi-drug med, as again, most other cold/allergy decongestant/antihistamine remedies (including most Robitussin remedies and nearly all Alka Seltzer Cold/Allergy, Tylenol Cold/Allergy, Advil Cold/Allergy, Claritin, Xyrtec, Allegra and their generic counterparts) have a significant drying effect. And some Mucinex brand medicines do have other meds along with the Guafenesin. Be sure to check carefully. Fx!!

AFM No significant temp rise this morning, which was a surprise, and another + OPK today. Still having bilateral O pains, thanks for the replies and glad to know this happens to you too Danielle. Referred pain certainly makes sense. Never experienced it before but ever since starting to TTC #2, I feel like I notice EVERYTHING. This whole cycle has been particularly odd for me, and it is only CD15!! I am hopeful that different will lead to a BFP, as it hasn't happened in the previous 8 cycles. I am afraid we are not cycle buddies, Dahlia, but we'll still be very close. Those d*mn polite ovaries!!

Sipping my 1/2 cup 'o coffee and enjoying these few minutes of peace before I head off to work. I am letting DD sleep a little late this morning. I should go wake her though. Happy Friday!!

Wildgreen - Welcome!!  Totally agree with Sparkle about the cold meds. Mucinex is good but pretty much all the others are designed to dry up mucus. Hoping you ov'd a little later than you expected and a BFP is in the works for you!

Dahlia - Yep, if you get 2 more days of high temps then ov was the day before the temp spike. I'll take a look at your chart in a second.  Your nanny job sounds so intense! Are those kids all in the same family or is it more than one family? You must be exhausted at the end of the day! LOL!

Sparkle - Weird about the neg OPK today! That's frustrating.  I'm jealous your daughter wants to sleep in, though! That never happens at my house! Oh and ov pains for me are usually referred. I think they are usually just after ov for me and are a generalized lower abd cramping, I think it's due to the bit of blood and fluid that gets released when the egg pops...

jjh - What did your OPK show??

Danielle - The waiting is the worst!! How much longer until you test? Do you have a busy weekend planned to make time pass faster?

AFM - Tested at 1am and POS OPK!!! Whoo hoo! Darker than the control, even. Woke DH up so we could take advantage.  But the type A in me doesn't know if I should put the pos on yesterday or today's charting. LOL. The things I worry about! So I'm hoping ov will be later today or likely early tomorrow. Yay!

Ok, so, I may be a day late!  My last few cycles have been 27-28 days long; today is CD29.  I did have one 29 day cycle shortly after getting my 1st PPAF so I'm not confident in saying I'm officially late yet but I sure am hopeful despite a BFN this morning.  That BFN turned into a faint +ve after the 10 minute mark which I know doesn't count but none of my other BFNs have done that so I'm taking it as another hopeful sign.  I had a twoonie-sized (ha ha, can you tell I'm Canadian?) brownish tinged CM spot yesterday morning and nothing since.  Nothing overnight.  No spotting/blood this morning.  And no cramps.  No signs of AF arriving at all.  Also no preg symptoms yet either, other than an awful head cold which of course might not be related at all.

Does anyone have a link to a detailed chart showing how hCG rises in early pregnancy?  I'm guessing that I usually fall into the lower end of the spectrum for what is normal since I seem to get slow to arrive BFPs and I'd love to daydream about what might be happening inside me right now :-)

dahlia, wow that sounds like a tough nanny job with so many really little ones to care for at once!

Danielle, wishing you lots of patience in this 2WW.  Learning to knit is on my to-do list for 2013 (along with learning to do yoga - I'm taking a beginners class now :-)  Are you a part of any knitting forums?  Do you know of any good learn-to-knit websites?

Sparkle, you sound so close to O'ing.  Any history of twins in your family if both your ovaries might be gearing up to release eggs at almost the same time?  I never feel any O pains - how neat that you can feel them now.

jjh, that's great that the vitex seems to be helping.  Yay for no acne!

AKK - So exciting! FX that your BFP is coming! I like Ravelry.com for knitting patterns and I think there are some good tutorials on there as well. I also find that just googling basic knitting stuff I can find all kinds of you tube videos, etc, that are so helpful. This is going to sound silly but I got this free Klutz learn to knit book years ago (it's designed for pre teen girls, I think!) and taught myself in a weekend. So maybe just hit the library? It's really not hard. Well, at the level at which I do it anyhow!

Hi this is my first time to use a pregnancy forum. I figured it'll help with the TWW to talk with others in the same boat. I am 9 dpo and took a cheapie test this morning with a BFN. I wasn't expecting anything different. I have been having very mild symptoms since 4dpo.

4 dpo- 9dpo--- cramping on left ovary-- comes and goes, feels like ovulation pain (which I get every month)

7 dpo- twinges in uterus

8 dpo- stinging pain in boobs, never had pain in my boobs even with AF

9 dpo- cramping as if gassy, no boob pain, hungrier than normal

I miscarried at 8 weeks 4.5 years ago.... no pregnancy symptoms. 

I find it hard to tell the difference between AF coming and pregnancy symptoms. Normally I don't get cramps till 2-3 days before AF but I've been having them much longer this month. I haven't monitored my temperature at all... figured it'd be too late to make a comparison. My guy is dying for a baby, but I'm not sure I'm ready for one just yet. I just need some positive feedback and advice on how to distract myself from the rest of the TWW.
