I have a friend that breasted twins and she never felt letdown either.. It doesn't seem to mean much.

A little update about us. We are still stuck here in AR. The bus is getting a new engine, which will take a few more days at least. We are hoping to be out of here by Sunday or Monday. They got the old engine out today and should be starting on the new(used) engine tomorrow morning. We ended up getting a hotel room so that we could have showers, internet and more space. Luckily the next parking lot over is a Motel 6, so we have a nice view of the bus and it's an easy walk back and forth. Over all it's not too bad, just boring, as it's mostly been too cold to go outside and we're in a small town with nothing going on.

Nicole, that's one cute baby. Heh. smile.gif

Becky, I agree with the others, I'm sure with a little effort there will be plenty of stuff for your friend.

Coralie still isn't walking full time, but every day she tries a little harder and takes a few more steps. She's also getting her eye teeth, has a cold and is overall bored and cranky. Oh joy.

So thankful that my dh is home today! I had such a severe migraine (along with bad earache) I just wanted to go into a dark room and hope that I didn't puke. My dh suggested I try to sleep while he watches Eli for me. I had one this bad when my dh wasn't home and Eli was crying all day long, it was the worst feeling. I literally lay in bed with Eli and counted the minutes till he came home. Pain killers don't always work for me. Today I rested for 1.5 hours, drifted in and out of sleep and eventually got up. My headache is less bad and I can function again... Eli was so happy to see me and ran off to get his blanky - he wanted a nap.... So cute!

I get migraines too and medication doesn't help me either. I have found rubbing Tiger balm over my forehead, temples, into my hairline, and on the base of my neck helps me. It's really hard to get migraines while being a mom!

FINALLY had a half decent night of sleep last night! And am prepared to go to bed very soon. *sigh* Fingers crossed that this will go off without a hitch tonight so I can be a normal person during the day!

I can't imagine trying to function with a toddler and a migraine.

Becky,'good luck on sleep.

The pilot light on our heater kept going out yesterday, so I turned it up high enough that it just won't kick off. Nice and warm now, but I need to find the can of air to blow it out. It is cold outside!

Ugh! Jasper is now covered in a pinprick rash all over his body! Dr said it was okay, just a viral rash, nothing we can do, etc. He probably had a nasty virus (on top of the ear infections) that was causing his high fever, cold, and cough. Anyone have any experience with the rash thing?? Dh is freaking out about it...

All over his body? Shay and Soren recently had a pinprick rash on their torsos after a fever. Certain antibiotics can have a rash with allergic reaction, but I assume your dictor would have mentioned that if he was on them.

Yes, we've had the viral rash thing before.   It looks scary, but usually resolves quickly.   Now, the antibiotic reaction I had that caused a body rash, spread to literally every part of my body from my feet to my ears and was so, so, so itchy I couldn't sleep.  If he were that itchy, I imagine you'd know it.    Sorry he's going through all this!  Poor little guy and poor  mama!

Thanks, guys! Yes, we talked to the doctor yesterday and she said a reaction to the abx would look totally different. The rash he has is on his chest, back, upper thighs, face, and scalp. It doesn't seem to bother him, but it looks bad. :(

Yeah, our boys had it around thanksgiving. Looked awful but they made no complaints.

I am bothered by the student support team meeting I had for dd1 yesterday. We are getting a plan in place for her ASD and sensory diagnoses. The psychologist kept telling me all these things I should do that I CAN NOT afford. I swear she told me 10 times to put dd1 in private school if we have the means. That she won't do well in public middle school. When I said she has trouble making friends, she suggested putting her in this summer program for gifted kids out of Johns Hopkins (dd is extremely gifted). I looked it up today- tuition alone is $4000!!! Then there are fees for books, travel, etc. She suggested private play therapy, which would be lovely and we've done before, but is around $100 a session out of pocket.

We are not poor by any means. But we are not rich, either. We are very middle class and have four kids. It's a stretch to have the big kids in one activity each. We are in that middle ground where we don't make enough to afford things, but make too much to qualify for financial aid. I kept telling this woman that we can't afford that, but she kept coming up with more expensive suggestions. Now I just feel like a loser since I can't afford fancy programs for dd. Oh well. I swear, some people are so out of touch. Sigh.

In other news, dh just called to tell me Jasper's fever is back. Joy. Now what...

PS- sorry for the memememe!!

Nevermind... dh just likes to freak out. 99.2 does not a fever make. eyesroll.gif

Amanda, I'm sorry. I recently heard a recommendation for a book called "learning the hidden curriculum" written by Judy Endow. Maybe something? I wish I knew more to tell you.

I so totally get this!  We had the same problem when it was time to enroll my ODD (gifted) into school early- it was pay (a lot) to test in to public school early, or pay to go to Montessori.   We were not eligible for financial aid for either.  She only made it because a very generous friend of my aunts heard me talking about it to my Mom and randomly handed me a check for half, even though I had never met her.  It would not have been possible without her.  My husband has a great job and makes a bit, but we have THREE KIDS...our same-income single friends don't get it.  Much like this lady who you had an encounter with.

Im really sorry Jasper is still having a hard time.  I bet you are exhausted!

The rash sounds like the same thing Conner had about a week ago. The doctor said it was most likely just a viral infection and would fix itself.

Ugh, that sounds so frustrating, Amanda!  Are there any government programs that you could benefit from?  Our neighbor's son has ASD and they have signed up for everything possible and now even get 15 hours of FREE babysitting each month paid for by the government.   She also regularly enrolls him in summer activities and camps through the park district.  They are required by law to provide him with an aid when he's in the program.  The programs are very affordable and with the aid, he basically gets one on one attention.  Swim lessons, summer camp, day hikes, etc.  Her son is actually on the spectrum, so his behavior can get quite unruly, but he's in public school where my dd goes and has been doing great.  He has an aid in the classroom there as well.  I know it's not quite the same with aspergers, but maybe an aid could be more like a behavioral coach for your dd?  She could facilitate group activities and maybe help her to make some friends?  Just a thought.

Amanda, is your school district not required to have an aid for her?

Avery just tripped and fell into the side of bath tub and took a chunk out of his front tooth. Wonderful. Now he'll have a weird front tooth until he's 7 or 8.  Why do all my kids have to suffer facial injuries?

I KNEW it! I knew  you'd post it here too. haha I'm glad he's okay. Is it a huge chunk of tooth or a corner....

Eli also has a piece missing on his front tooth. He fell against the computer table... I remember seeing some blood, but never bothered to check his mouth thoroughly... I noticed just before his birthday that his tooth was chipped. Oh well... I know a friend who's baby chipped her one front tooth and she actually went to have it fixed. *shrug* I don't know.
