I posted yesterday, but it doesn't seem to have gone through. I'm also interested in a K'tan, since I have no head for wrapping. I need something that is fast to get on and put in a baby. I've used pouches in the past, but I've had some trouble with the positioning, and also they are one-shouldered. I have an Ergo but don't want to use it for a newborn. I found a really good deal one one here, they don't have the best size selection (I found a medium yesterday), but it's worth checking back. (I just checked this site's ratings and they have mixed reviews, so I guess proceed at your own risk) http://www.nobetterdeal.com/shop/en/nbd/search/carrier-slings

I am still sick, but am able to get out of bed today. I'm soon going back. At least the fever is down a lot. It went up last night, but the Tylenol worked for that. I will really appreciate my health when I get it back. I'm also torn whether I should have gotten the flu shot or not. The literature is confusing and mixed. I guess when it's over with I'll be glad I didn't.

Munchkin, good luck with the GTT Test! I need to go when I recover from this illness. I had to do the 3 hour test last night. It's really long. My MW said if I fail the one hour this time, she will just put me on the diet, since I failed one of the 3-hour tests last time.

I ordered a K'Tan wrap for Calliope this week. I like how hands free Moby's and other wraps are, but absolutely suck at the wrapping, so hopefully this will be a good compromise! I wanted to get the Boba 3G, but with her being so little during the spring/summer, I want something a little more "breathable" with our hot summers.

Did you get the Breeze, then?  If so I'd love to hear about it.  I've tried a K'Tan in the past and it didn't work well for me (but I enjoy wrapping...well, with knits anyway...not as much with wovens) but I consistently look out for a steal on a Breeze because for me that would be the most practical!!! (since the majority of my babywearing will be during hot/warm months) I do have a Calin Bleu wrap that I bought for the baby we lost late in 2011, and it's gauze so it will be a nice cool one, but like I said...I'm not as great with woven wraps.

I had my first appointment in 6 weeks yesterday, which felt like a long time at this stage in the game (I am 29w4d).  We'll go to every three weeks from now on.  It was really nice to see my midwife, who is a good friend.

Baby is looking good.  The peanut gallery of Brooklyn is right and I am a little small: measuring 27 at 29w3d.  Daughter got to do the doppler and baby's heart rate was fluctuating between 155 and 169.  My BP is good too.  Did my glucose test (although she just does a non-fasting blood glucose after a cup of grape juice,  nothing too formal) but I'm a little concerned about that because I have been eating high protein/fat and low carb/grain and I don't know how they will affect my levels (since my body is definitely not used to processing that much sugar right now).  However, she knows that and says she won't be concerned.  She was also reassuring about some insurance issues and said my varicose veins are really, really mild so all in all it was a wonderful visit.  She did take on a student midwife this semester so it felt a little awkward because there was a third person in the room (albeit a totally nice person!) who I had never met so it was a little more on-task of an appointment than our usual gabbing about both my midiwife's life and my own (we actually talked about some specific pregnancy questions I had for once, which we always forget to do until the last minute LOL!).  I have to admit I am not feeling AWESOME about having the assistant at my birth because I've delivered solely with my m/w twice already but I recognize it's a bit hypocritical because I will want people to allow me at their birth in two years (when I am a student midwife -- probably with my midwife as preceptor!).  It's just a gut feeling I wish I didn't have.  M/w says we can opt out of having the student there, but I am going to try to get over it because, yeah, midwifery student solidarity and all that.  Ha.

I have a Moby which I like using when baby is a newborn/infant. And I have a Baby Hawk mei tai which I like using when baby gets a bit bigger. I also have a sling, but I don't use that until baby is big enough to sit on my hip, as it was just one of those free ones online (shipping only).  We also have a Kelty Wallaby carrier we use for hiking/camping for front carry. And once baby gets bigger we have a backpack carrier for hiking as well.

This is our story too.  I have a moby for the newborn period, although I still find it kind of difficult to use!  Never really got the hang of it, I guess.  I move on pretty quickly to a MT -- I have two.  One was made by a WAHM friend of mine and the other is a Bamberoo.  I also have a WONDERFUL sleeping baby ring sling I got custom made out of a wrap and it is the best thing ever.  It quickly becomes an all-the-time appendage once I can put baby on my hip.

Well I canceled my midwife appt for Thurs. Its my only day off during the week and I need to bring my son to the doctor instead. Right now they don't do evening appts, so I'll just wait another 2 weeks for my 28 week appt. Not a big deal. But my son has what looks like infected bumps on the shaft of his penis and he is starting to complain of pain, so I though his problem was much more important than my appt. I originally thought it was just a block gland or follicle, but now that its looking infected, I'm bringing him in.

I ordered the Ktan breeze from that website. We'll see if it's arrives OK and if it's comfy. I was also unsure if I should order a S or M. I tried to do research and ended up ordering a M.

Glucose results were normal and, in fact, on the very low end of normal.  Yay body!  :)  Iron levels are also good, which was a concern because I started out the pregnancy slightly anemic so it's good to see how well I am doing even now at this lowest point of iron (and I'm not even taking an iron supplement!). Double yay!

Feeling so very, very frazzled and short-tempered this week. :(

Wanted to get so much done this weekend, and I worked hard all weekend. But then when I tried to get DP to help out Sunday morning he only helped a little. Then later in the day he got really dizzy and ill feeling and couldn't help anymore. So now I'm even more behind than I was before the weekend started. And I just wish I could ship DD off to her aunt's or her Grandma's for a weekend (but they live 1,800 miles away), so I can get stuff done w/o interruption, or arguments, or whining, or having to stop to do normal daily stuff (school drop-off, bedtime routine, etc.).

Just found out: no more progesterone for me! Yay! It only took til the third trimester...but I think my body is finally convinced that the baby is here to stay, LOL. I'm hoping some of the nausea and tiredness that I have been experiencing FOREVER could partly be to blame on the progesterone...so going off it for the first time in almost a year will be an interesting change. Although maybe since I am making enough of my own progesterone, I won't notice a difference. That's ok...I'm just glad my body is finally doing what its supposed to do! :)

Uuugh. I am definitely dealing with candida issues AGAIN. I though for sure last spring I had defeated the majority of it but was still careful. (I have been battling it for abt 4 years). I am sure though that they put me on abx during my ectopic surgery and that dropped me back down the ladder. So ridiculously frustrating.

1babysmom - I hear ya. I have had what feels like a constant yeast infection this pregnancy. I had candida issues before getting pregnant and thought I had it under control too. But the pregnancy brought back all my sugar cravings.

On a happy note though my face is looking so much better. Its still a bit dry and flaky, but not any where near as red as it was when it was at its worst. I'm thinking it may have been the dairy that was making me flare up too. I stopped washing my face everyday and apply a lot of coconut oil, which has helped. I just hope this goes away entirely once I have the baby.

Checking in here...

We are trucking along.. almost 30 weeks! Had a growth U/S on Friday.. A is 2 lbs 14 oz, B is 2 lb 1 oz ( hes our SUA baby) and C is 3 lbs! The Dr is pleased with the growth..  My cervix is staying nice and closed ( yay) and BP is normal.. I now go for weekly U/S and BP monitor.. They are wanting to keep an eye on B as he is a little behind but are not worried...

C section is set for Feb 26th at 10 am.. that is 34 weeks 3 days! They should be a good size and hopefully not a long nicu stay.

Sleeping has gotten bad again . and they are not fans of me eating.. i get a really upset stomach that lasts any where from and hour to two hours after any meal... the doctor says it is due to lack of room..

Crazy that our sons will be born in about a month!

How is everyone else feeling?

I finally kicked whatever it was that everyone else had! Just to end up getting a sinus infection. Lovely. orngtongue.gif DF made me a cup of green tea with honey in it, and the relief was instantaneous! So I made a cup of green tea with honey in it a few hours ago... nothing. I don't know if he just has the magic touch, or I just suck at tea or what, but it didn't work. I feel like someone punched me in my mouth and my one eye. At least I felt good enough to make *and eat* some actual food for dinner. I made some white bean and chicken chili I stole from a thread in a different DDC. shy.gif DF and DS really liked it, but it was a bit spicy for DD, so I guess I'll have to take hers out before I add the spices next time. But she did try and eat it, which I appreciate. So I'm thinking I'm on finally the mend, so long as I can kick this sinus junk. orngbiggrin.gif Right now, the kids and I are watching a nature documentary on PBS before I send them off to bed.

Other than that, I got my taxes all filled out and ready to turn in to realize that they aren't accepting returns until January 30th. Which kind of bums me, because we're using refund for baby stuff, but even more makes me proud, that I actually got something done way early. orngtongue.gif

Baby is kicking up a storm. It seems like there's less activity when I'm sick, like TB knows I need the rest, but enough that I don't worry too much.

For some reason, I'm starting to get scared of going into labor, and having the baby. I don't know why, just all of a sudden, a couple of days ago, I started feeling nervous and scared. I don't know why. That combined with the fact that for a few months now, I've been thinking that I may end up with a RCS, I'm not sure what's going on. Hopefully, it's just a short thing, and I feel better again soon.

I just filed today but have been waiting until 12/27 when we got our last pay stub (our taxes are extremely simple). But they wouldnt let me file until the credit forms were in and initially they said 1/4, then it turned into 1/18, then 1/23. Ugh.

I'm feeling fantastic. Lots of kicks, no pain or discomfort. Waking up to pee far too close to real wakeup time has been cramping my style, but other than that, I can't complain.

I am grappling with a pretty heavy duty cloth diaper addiction, though.

I'm on a new kick of wanting to mainly do cloth fitted (workhorses with snaps) under wool covers, too. But, rather than sell off some of my 25-odd pockets (soooo preciousssss), I'm trying to destash my special perfume collection on a fan forum to fund the addiction!!!

I have been feeling surprisingly well lately.  I have NO idea what changed by I have been having next to NO sciatica, SI joint pain, and...no SPD pain!  I can hardly believe it.  Last time I had already been in tears for MONTHS over the pain...I couldn't even get out of bed or walk through my house.  Granted, I have learned so much over the last 2 pregnancies on what I can do to lessen the impact, but I doubt that's making THIS much difference.  I am seeing the chiro once a week (but have been most of the pregnancy) though I started seeing the 2nd guy in the practice a few weeks ago, and he does adjust a little different...wonder if I can thank him??  Just really nice, though...even if the pain still comes, just having SOME time to feel really great is very encouraging.  Maybe I've just earned it after what we've been through the last couple years. LOL
