Hi friends! So I am 5 months post-partum and still struggling terribly with constipation. In fact, I had this issue long before I was pregnant. I feel like I have tried all of the standard recommendations: I've eaten 40-50g of fiber/day, daily bone broth, homemade daily kombucha, a scoop of homemade fermented sauerkraut daily... 90% of my diet is homemade, at least 70% is plant-based. The only thing that has seemed to help is taking ionic magnesium daily, like Peter Gilman's CALM powdered mag/cal blend but it really feels like a band-aid on the wound. I average 3liters-1gal of water every single day. Admittedly, I haven't done all of these things at the same time, but as a new mother it's been a challenge to balance all of my home food projects with a new babe. Honestly, my system is so freakish that I could eat 5 prunes everyday for a week and not produce a loose movement. It doesn't seem to make a difference :(
Any thoughts out there?
My sister-in-law is suggesting colon hydro-therapy, any tried that?
Thanks!
