Crunchy Christian mamas '13 - Page 12

Thanks so much! for the info on breechilings! I'll look for that article & it is very encouraging to hear about your breech UC! Sounds amazing!

I was just telling DH that I wanted to search mothering & see if there was a discussion re breech vs vertex natural deliveries & then you both share just the info I needed-- awesome!

I had a few more thoughts on friends who don't reciprocate, esp fellow believers (bc we are given specific instructions on some of this)... to love one another, we must 1.) do the best thing for them, no matter it's cost to us & 2.) keep God's commands (1 jn 5). Sounds simple, but def not easy!

Doing the best thing for the other person is usually difficult & it may mean walking away (bc sometimes ppl who are/ should be mature need to have natural consequences to grow more) or it may mean patiently continuing to make friendly advances (is she a babe in Christ, in need of extra care & instruction?) or even confronting a sister about her unloving attitude (does this seem to be the problem?) What really is the best thing for her? Can you do it alone or would you need help? idk ... re stranger in the park-- it's a different ballgame, but I do agree w PP who said it may be her own insecurities about being vulnerable relationally (it may be for a believer as well)

School sounds fun at your house Nazsmum! Are you familiar w "Relaxed Record Keeping"? It's a short little book that really helped me learn to count & document all the million learning experiences we have everyday in a real life context for cut & dried school course credit. Priceless!

So I'm looking a Mary (Jesus mom) any thoughts? It is interesting to look at her life.

I would be interested in discussing Mary from a Roman Catholic perspective! (We don't "worship" her as some people might think, though there is a movement in the Catholic Church to give her a "promotion" to the title of "Co-Mediatrix"...)

I'd like to hear about how other Christians view Mary, also.

glassesgirlnj- Nice to see you!!! wave.gif How was your summer? Did you get to the shore at all?

Do you have a website or book that you like on Mary? I have been going over the notes that I made and trying to put a time line together. Matt is about her and Joseph then the birth. Where Luke is more about her going to visit Elizabeth and then the birth. John has the wedding.  I think they all have about Jesus death.

This brings up a question of the Jesus' birth? Was Joseph at the birth or midwife?

Then also Joseph himself- When did he die? I know that i read that somewhere...

So on and so.

Hi Nazsmum-- re Mary, one thing I like to look at is her relationship with her son--- like he was GOD, yet he was subject to her, both when he was a preteen @ the temple & later at the wedding feast-- he did his 1st miracle, although he told it wasn't his time yet, bc she wanted him to! WOW! Plus other tidbits, like she "treasured these things in her heart" what exactly does that mean? I get the idea generally, but what did it specifically mean to her? yk?

We have good news! Our breechiling has turned! & she has dropped really low, so dr thinks it'll be this week! (I don't feel ready in many ways! ugh!)

Guess Mary didn't feel ready either, LOL!!!!

I'm trying to get a clearer understanding of what intersession is. Anyone have any input? How would you define intersession?

Deep prayer. Seeking God's will. Seeking His heart for the deep situation. Taking His answer no matter what that is.

3LilChunklins- Can you explain you question more?

DH explained intersession as taking ground. That didn't really click in my mind....
So my understanding is that when you intercede for someone its intense prayer, laboring in prayer. But I was under the impression that you aren't supposed to bring someones inequity to the Lords remembrance. So how do you intercede for someone who is in bondage?

Yea that would be great! But it's ok, maybe I just need to witness/hear it be done to clear things up in my mind.

Tonight is the start of Sukkot. JOHN chapter 7 has Jesus celebrating Sukkot.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Another definition of intercession, and the only one I've known, is a prayer to God on behalf of others - basically praying for other people. So for example I pray for you, and maybe your parents or husband pray for you.

Another form of intercession is asking the Saints in Heaven to pray to God for myself or others. Like I would ask Saint Dominic Savio, who was a schoolboy saint in Italy in the 1800s who died before he was old enough to enter the seminary, to pray to God for my sons. Or I would pray that the Blessed Virgin Mary would pray to her Son Jesus to give me graces to be a good wife and mother.
